Funding Unsuccessful

This project reached the deadline without achieving its funding goal on March 2, 2010.

PREMIER: You get your choice of between two sets of 3 x 5-inch character cards, each set containing at least four cards. The cards are printed on high quality card stock, each is signed by Johnny B. Gerardy, and the set is mailed to you by the artist’s own hand. Think of Set #1 as the Supperman set, and Set #2 as the Transfatman set. How 'bout that!?! To quote Stan "the Man" Lee ... "'Nuff said!"

Pledge $10 or more

PREMIER PLUS: You get your choice of the two signed character card sets, plus a digital PDF copy of your choice of any of the sequential sections from the completed cookbook. Johnny B. is developing these to separate appetizers from soups/salads from main dishes from desserts, so you can count on at least three or four short, punchy comic sections to choose from.

Pledge $100 or more

EXTRA SUPER GARGANTUAN: All of the above (except the GARGANTUAN level reward), PLUS Johnny will design a superhero character around you that will appear in one of the sequential panels inside the cookbook. You will be presented with the signed original concept sketch that Johnny B. made to refine the design of your character.

LIVIN’ LIFE GALACTUS-LARGE: This is the top package. Total access to the development process, both for Johnny B. and myself, Tom Carroll, the author. Also a completely inscribed and autographed copy of the book once it is published (artist, author, and editor signing inside, probably with really complimentary comments, from the heart, you know). And, hey, I’ll take the copy to Comic Con 2011 and get your copy signed by as many creators as I can!!! And you get to be drawn in the comic as a superhero, AND you get the poster and all the swag. The nicest of an amazingly nice array of rewards and totally worth the $$$.

Free thinker, writer of comics, motion comics, stories, and video, videogame art maker, great collaborator with other creative people. In a nutshell, that is me.

Two years ago things began to pick up speed. I wrote "P.O.D.: The Nexus" for artist/creator Mat Broome. It was published in 2008 by Zondervan Press, a division of Harper Collins. What a great experience it was since the comic was published along with a CD of P.O.D.'s music. Over the top!

That year while working my Artists Alley table at the San Diego Comic Con I met Brad Boyink, marketing pro with Meal Magic. He needed a comic book team to put out the next Meal Magic corporate comic and I stuck with them while they drafted the script and did a sample layout. In 2009 my art / inking partner Johnny B. Gerardy and I completed the comic, called "A Tale of Two Schools," and Brad and his boss, Jim, were very happy with the results. The comic is being printed now and will be distributed to Meal Magic clients, schools, and other potential buyers. Look for us at the San Diego Comic Con 2010; we'll have copies!!

I am now working on two projects:

First is a cookbook called, "Batter! Broil!! Baste!!! The Comic Book Creators Cookbook," that has already been picked up for publication by Square One Publishing. The catch, I am looking for someone at Kickstarter.com to toss an invitation my way so I can raise money to pay Johnny B. Gerardy to complete artwork for the book. THE COMIC BOOK CREATORS COOKBOOK IS DEFINITELY THE PROJECT FOR KICKSTARTER.COM because without funding, Johnny B. Gerardy , who is putting the sequential artwork together, won't be able to contribute.

Second, my own comic, "Gun Nose Presents," is a look at a hard core conservative transmogrified into his worst visual nightmares and cast into an alternate reality where he is forced to be a talk show host. Lots of humor, lots of surprises. Look for it soon on Kickstarter.com.
