ABOUT:

Our project Slideagram from Digital to Analog, seeks to journal the life of 100 people around the world who use Instagram on their day to day, to capture life's special moments. The outcome of the project will be turning their digital photos into 35mm slides, have a slideshow event party in NYC and create a Book with the best images. 

HOW IT WORKS:

SLIDESHOW PARTY IN NYC:

During all 52 weeks of 2012 we’ll be accepting global submissions on our website Slideagram.com. The best pictures will be printed in 35mm slides and featured during our Official Launch party in December 2012 in NYC and included in our Collectable Book along with small bio of the author.

To participate you and your images in the Book as 1 of the 100 people, add the #slideagram tag when uploading images to Instagram. The Book will be released on December 2012 during the Event Launch party. Featured Instagramers will be specials guests.

The selection of images for the Book will be based  under the below popular categories:

CURATING THE BOOK:

There’s millions of photos right now being uploaded to Instagram. We don’t have time to see them all, nor can we fit them all in a Book. But now imagine seeing the best #cat photo of all 2012, what about the most beautiful #wedding  or most the unforgettable #sunset. Our Book will go through a Professional curation process, (with the help of Dan Rubin) to publish only the best of the best images, making this Book a unique piece to own.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS PROJECT?

Every day more and more pictures are taken than ever before, while paper photo albums and 35mm slides are disappearing faster than ever before. We don’t want all of our memories  in a computer’s hard drive. We want to print them and share them with friends and family. This problem inspired us to create this very project.

We believe our generation, has a great passion for vintage photography, analog cameras, and everything that add fun to our photos. We’ve grown in a era where everything is digital and sometimes we get tired of them - well I do - but at the same time, we love our iPhones, iPads and all the cool gadgets we have at our disposal. Since we can’t get away from our present technology, this project allow us to bring both together in a creative and fun experience

FUNDING:

To achieve all this we’re calling out to all vintage, analog, Instagramers and photography aficionados for your support. Our goal is  $20,000, that will help to produce something that we feel proud of showing to the world. Something that doesn’t go unnoticed.

Our team is composed of:

• 3 film/photography guys.
• 1 Business guy (me)
• 2 Curators
• 1 Graphic designer
• 1 Web developer

We believe that to make something worthy to be proud of, we need to have our team focused on the project. Slideagram will require real commitment and dedication and that’s why $20,000 will take us there.

FAQ's:

Where does the images you send in the rewards come from?
Your own Instagram feed. 

When the PDF Book will be shipped?
Dec 2012

When the Real Book will ship?
Book will ship by Dec 2012 but the 35mm slides will ship separately on all the rewards levels as soon as April 2012.

What kind of Kodak Carousel I'll be getting?
The Carrousel will be used in good working condition delivered home with all the goodies mentioned above.

When will you ship the Oil Painting in the Reward #10?
Oil paint will ship separately in June 2012.

When I'll be able to order online printing of my own 35mm slides?
As soon as we have Slideagram.com up and running. We estimate by June 2012.

What happens after we get funded? We’ll start to build our real website to collect submission, from there you’ll be able to start following the different tags as the year goes by, plus you’ll be able photo-journal your own life by creating albums (“moments” as we call them) and provide you the capabilities to order 35mm slides from your Instagram pictures.

Should I keep funding you after you reach the goal? Yes! Any money above that will go towards setting up our own film processing studio and bringing to full life Slideagram.com a web service to the whole Instagram community and vintage photographers around the world.

Where do you project the 35mm slides? Well here's where the vintage and unique experience starts!. I purchased a 1960's Bell & Howell Slide Cube projector that I found on ebay. Ebay has many options from $25 dollars up to $150 for newer models. So simply type "slide projector" on the search bar and you'll find a lot of them. The most popular 35mm slide projectors are the Kodak Carousel that was featured on  Mad Men.
