Around 1440, Johannes Gutenberg developed a printing press that applied pressure to an inked surface resting upon a print medium (such as paper or cloth), thereby transferring the ink to that print medium. This invention revolutionized printing and is regarded as the most influential events in the second millennium AD.

Fast forward to the 3rd millennium, year 2012, as StoneMetal Press revolutionizes fine art printmaking by taking it to the streets with GI-NOROMOUS PRINTS. This event has ten highly talented artists going "full steam ahead" as they carve giant woodcuts and "roll it on down the road" printing their large scale images.  

By contributing to this project you are helping StoneMetal Press provide an event that will showcase the creativity of our participating artists as we print their large woodcuts in our parking lot as a performance art event for the community to witness large scale printmaking and to allow us to hold an exhibit of the artists' prints.
