For when you want to stand out, Luxwear is clothing that uses light and sensors to create dynamic wearable art.

My name is Frederick Hobgood, I live in hotter than blazes Florida, and I'm the creator of Luxwear, a company geared towards creating casual etextiles.
An etextile is a piece of clothing or fabric that responds to stimuli presented by our natural environment through sensors, lights, buzzers, speakers, anything really. The problem is most of what you can find online is expensive and though cool may not be practical for everyday wear.
Luxwear's goal is to show consumers something they haven't seen. I'm staying far away from Iron Man and Tron style shirts. Light's can really make a shirt stand out but I'm not out to give you a gimmick but a unique wearable experience.
My first line is called, "Astroverse," and will feature four galaxy tee's handmade by myself to resemble the surfaces of Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. They will be available with a light up Lux logo or without, but the jewel of the series is a shirt called "Zeus" that will be made to look like the night sky with a lightning bolt rising up from the shirt's bottom and set with EL wire attached to an inverter that responds to sound so the bolt will flash in response to noise.
And that is just the beginning. I started this project thinking about what would I spend my hard earned money on? It is my earnest desire to communicate directly with my consumers so if you have any questions or comments just click the logo and it will bring you straight to Luxwear's etextile blog.
I could go on and on about my plans and designs, believe me, as cool as "Zeus" will be, there are better things on the horizon. Thank you so much for your time and consideration and please help me make this happen!.
FAQ
-
Nada, the phosphorus that lines the wire degrades under UV light so this is best for late evening to night wear.
-
They will need to be hand washed. The wire has a plastic cover to protect it from dampness but throwing the whole thing in the laundry is out of the question. Shirt's using the panel, like my prototype, will have slots so the panels can come out easy but the wires are glued in tight.

The great thing about hand making them is that you have a lot of say about how you want the product you're purchasing to look. I can change colors of the shirt and the lightning bolt, use different materials, paint it a certain way. They are very customizable.
