Update #4: Our Final Hour: 300 Backers and Bmore Sun Article!
We are awed at the outpouring of generosity from places expected and unexpected. Keepers of The Earth cannot be made without you. Please stay in touch via email, comments on our blog, twitter or our facebook page.
We're very close to our ideal 25K production budget. If you'd like to chip in something extra in our final hour of need, please do so.
Kickstarter has offered us a roller-coaster journey. It's brought a series of great new contacts, promising opportunities for advancing our film and bonded our team together like a family.
Our Yogi, Josh Rothschild, reminded us that begging can be a way of offering. Josh helped infuse our campaign with the pride and power of the begging bowl.
This campaign has consistently humbled us. We are humbled by the reality that our film's production is dependent on the goodwill of over 300 backers. We're humbled by our commitment to be a bridge for friends in Mexico's remote jungles to tell their story to new friends across the world.
Over the next 3 weeks we are set to secure 501c3 status through a fiscal sponsorship. At that point we can receive tax-deductible donations and grants from foundations and donor-funds.
Continue to talk about Keepers of the Earth to your friends and professional network. Tell us about groups working on similar issues. Keep us in your minds and keep spreading the word.
With Deepest Gratitude
The Keepers of the Earth Production Team

Update #3: Courage for Our Dreams: Event Tonight in Manhattan
Thanks to all of you we reached our goal!
We're holding off on celebrating because 20K is our absolute lowest budget. We need 25K to provide all the necessary equipment and staff to do the dreams of Juan and his people justice.
Our team will be gathering with friends and supporters tonight in Manhattan for an end-of-campaign party and pledge-drive. Our friend Matt Stern hosts us at an apartment in Manhattan's upper-East side. Join us and invite friends in the area!
We'll gather from 5pm-10pm at the address below:
162 E 90th St Apt 5W
New York, NY
There will be drinks, a screening, raffle and a presentation of our outreach and conflict-mapping initiative.

Update #2: Indiewire, 150 Backers and One Great Party
Great News!
An Indiewire rep requested to profile Keepers in this week's "In The Works" column showcasing promising works-in-progress. We'll post a link as soon as the column is live. Kickstarter is an opportunity for us to realize our interdependence. Ambitious, independent films cannot be made without help from generous backers like you. Please call and email your friends, and keep spreading the word about Keepers of the Earth. With 12 days left we need over 8K to meet our goal.
Successful Party:
We'd like to extend our gratitude to all the friends, family, and colleagues who attended our fundraising party last Friday at Noble Tree Cafe in Chicago. Fun appeared to be had by all, we met our funding goal for the evening and on-site pledging helped us shoot past 150 backers.
Updated Video:
Check out our updated Kickstarter video featuring the Soto-Karlin Bros. first performance as an on-screen duo and music by our composer Ted Reedy, http://www.tedreedy.com/HOME.html. In the next 2 days, we'll post updated text with additional details on our shaman's quest.
