The Winners!
The backers have spoken -- you've cast your votes, and it's time to announce the winners of the Pirate Dice Kickstarter Map Contest! We received over a hundred entries into the contest, and it was difficult to narrow things down to the final six. But even that wasn't enough -- we needed you to narrow it down even further.
The winning map will be printed as a promo map for Pirate Dice: Voyage on the Rolling Seas. However, 2nd and 3rd place might get printed as well! If we reach the $22.5k stretch goal, then ALL maps in the game will be double-sided, -- including the promos.
So without further ado, it's time to reveal our vote tallies.
In third place with 20 votes, we have Siren's Embrace, by C. R. Veatch.
I really like the diagonal flavor to this map, and the winds and whirlpools that clutch at sailors, attempting to pull passers-by into its grasp.

In second place with 22 votes, we have Octopus Lair, by Matthew L. Smith
What this map lacks in symmetrical diversity, it makes up with a great use of theme that oozes character.

In first place with 28 votes, we have le Clerc's Traverse, by Bill Glasgow
Named after François le Clerc, this map has it all -- character, style, and asymmetrical flavor that promises to provide variety no matter how you rotate it and place it on the map. The pirate le Clerc was known for being the first of his boat to charge into battle, and it will take a similarly bold spirit to conquer this sea-monster of a map.

Thanks so much to everyone who participated in the contest by submitting maps and voting for them. This was a lot of fun, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Congratulations to the winners!!!

Wow! I am truly thrilled that my map got the most votes. Thank you to all who supported it and congratulations to my fellow finalists. I'm sure the next stretch goal will be met. Thanks to Clint for the opportunity to play junior cartographer. I had a blast!

Awwww mine didn't get picked :( Oh well, the other two that I voted for won, and they were all awesome anyway!

Congratulations to the winners! While it didn't win, I'm flattered to have had one of my maps chosen for the top six and the ones that did win all look great. Fantastic contest - thanks for running it!

Awesome contest! Thanks to Clint for selecting one of my maps, and thanks to all who voted for it. I'm confident we'll reach $22.5K. Double-sided boards will be a great addition to the game. I can't wait!
