This is a great game! I'd love to get an expansion pack, it is hard choosing only two people to play with :) But the small size works great, too, for the style of gameplay.

      Hi Susan,

Thank you for letting us know that you enjoyed the game. That is one of the best rewards in this job! We are delighted that you enjoyed time with family, playing a game that we (and you!) helped publish.

Happy Holidays from Keith, Alf (the designer) and the entire Gryphon Games team

Waited until my daughter came home to play this game. Such fun and laughter, we did have. I read the rules first and then we referred to them as we went along. Enjoyed it very much, My son won the first game, by the way.

Hi hopping fun. There are lots of ways to go here, but one thing I would suggest is that for a post-meal game, with tryptophan coma setting in, a group of players all learning the game from scratch can be tough. My suggestion is that once you get a game or two under your belt you can help guide this group into and through the game with just a little help from you as their navigator (if not pardoner :-)) so to speak. The mechanics of the game are pretty straightforward, but certainly there are several elements to scoring. So I would suggest if you can get everyone's buy in at the beginning that the first few rounds or even complete game are just a practice run then you should be OK because then they can learn the mechanics, and make a better informed decision as to whether they would enjoy the game or not. Thank you for your enthusiasm to play the game, and I hope this suggestion is useful!

Sat down to play this on Thanksgiving (we're avid board gamers, all styles) but I was unable to convince the group to give it a go, unfortunately. They gave up halfway thru a second read of the rules and after a false start. So many cards, spaces, plays, pieces (and perhaps a little too much turkey and fixings. ;-). I just watched the tutorial (posted below), which is somewhat helpful. Wondering if anyone else had trouble getting past the learning curve, buying into the game play? Suggestions for clarifying? I'll tackle the game again, when I find some time but will need to find a new group. (Impressed by the quality of product, btw—built to dazzle and to last.)

Thanks! I got my copies of The Road To Canterbury earlier this week. However, upon looking at my backer level ($90), it indicates that one of my copies should have been signed by the author. I haven't broken the seal to confirm that as I thought it would be on the cover or box bottom. Where, in fact, should the signature appear?

Hi Mark, I am sorry that you are unhappy with the lack of response. I/we have been providing project updates to try and keep everyone advised of the shipping of the games (there are 500 copies headed out to individuals and there have been several updates in the past few days). I have been using the product update tool to convey consistent information to everyone as much as possible. Again, I am sorry that you are unhappy. The two attempts I see about shipping requests came today, and I am checking with the warehouse (I live in Chicago, the warehouse is in KY) to get an answer for you. Keith

I was really delighted to see you'd reached your goal and then some! I was broke when I pledged my $1, but couldn't help but want to see such an imaginative product come to life and I was happy you made it possible for me to help at such a low level. If you would like someone else to review the rules for consistency, flow, etc., I was a technical editor for 25 years and I'd be glad to take a look, no charge.

      Hi,

I pledged $65 at the $45 level, as I need international shipping. Was this the way to do it?
Also, amazon payments requires a US address. I used an address I usually get stuff shipped to, but would want this to be sent directly to me.

      Hi Marc,

I don't think this will make GenCon. We will probably have an advance production copy there for people to see, but even though the project is funded, the participation level will influence the print run, and certainly determine the quantity of bonus materials made, so we would be premature to finalize production right now. Thank you for the enthusiasm and for your interest in The Road to Canterbury.

I had a chance to sit down with Alf last night and play this. I just wanted to say that it was fantastic! The game is just what it appears to be and practically forced us to have fun. It also functions very well, and the 'push-your-luck' strategy lends itself perfectly to the 'sin-committing' theme.
      Great game!
