I'm an interaction designer for Cheezburger Networks that's has been working on social strategy and games for the last few years. Previously, designed facebook applications for big-name brands such as T-Mobile and Travelocity. I also love food.
Congrats! MediaChick and Food Carts Portland sent me. Sounds like an awesome project. Can't wait to try the pie and see the results of your experiments.
BTW, I realize it's Pie Lab. I just think there is some "love" to be found here as well. ;)
Since you applied to accept debit/credit cards, might you consider opening up the Pie Love for others who may not be able to afford it? Not sure of the rules for food carts, but farmer's markets can accept EBT (food stamps) payments, which, if you did, could bring a whole new dynamic to your experiment. Here are two links I found that give more info. :)

Congratulations! You made it! And, your cart looks amazing. Have a great weekend!
mmmm... pie...and....coffee? http://tinyurl.com/45jtmm
Gordon : I want to play with the very powerful concept of free. Example: Slice of pie - $4.00. Pie + ice cream - $5.50. Pie + ice cream + coffee - $5.50.... making the coffee free. Will it mean more folks go in for the whole deal because of the free coffee? I think it will.
I will be collecting as much data as possible and will make it available, absolutely. I'm even trying to sort out the hardware to do live streaming.
Crystal - can you give examples of other experiments you might do? Also, will you be keeping data about what happens and making it available to the public?
Crystal--I'm glad we were able to chat on the phone yesterday. :) I'm glad to be backing your project!
Out of deference and respect for the good work done by the PieLab in Greensboro, AL, I will be renaming my project. Please stand by.
Did you Google Pie Lab when you were choosing your name & beginning this venture? It seems like that would be a normal thing to do. It makes sense for you to research those things on the front end because of your work. I can’t help but draw the conclusion that you knew about Pie Lab and chose to go forward with your plan. I invite your readers to Google Pie Lab & see how many pages of links come up. I almost backed your Kickstarter project because I thought you were somehow connected to Pie Lab. And, Pie Lab has national recognition, so it really doesn’t matter how many miles Portland is from Greensboro.
@Joey I sincerely disagree. Please see full comments at http://skinnywhitegirl.com/blog/this-is-not-pielab/93/
this is a 100% ripoff of a design program called Project M who created the EXACT same concept in Greensboro, AL.
