Here are some photos as a thank-you to everyone who's donated and put us over the top of our fundraising goal! I spent the morning collecting branches and cutting them into spokes for the molecular model / building toy that will be inside the greenhouse. This is a great sample of how this will look both organic and engineered.

But this will get even better from what's in the photos & video:

• This is about 1/20 of the final number of pieces in the model!
• The ball connectors will be painted. They will be 3 colors: black for carbon (with 4 connectors), red for oxygen (2 connectors) and blue for nitrogen (3 connectors).
• Artificial flowers can be plugged into the model as well
• Everything will be coated with invisible black-light reactive paint, and will glow brightly at night!

We're moving quickly with a bunch of stuff this week!   We just had a bunch of 1/8" plywood laser cut into decorative elements that Dana is going to gild (coat with fake gold.)   Also of note, I just ordered the black light bulbs that will illuminate the space at night - they come out to be about 48 linear feet and 480 watts of black light to make the flowers and molecular model glow at night!   

But the BIGGEST thing is that we're trying to hit our funding goal by Sunday!  We're just $700 short, and you can help by posting this Kickstarter to Facebook or Twitter, or your social network or list of choice!

First of all, thanks to everyone who has backed the project so far!!  We're making great progress toward our goal, but have a little more than $1000 to raise between now and Sunday.  If you know someone who's been on the fence about backing the project, please give them a polite nudge!

The most exciting development is that Christian is starting on the metalwork for the kinetic reveal during the burn.  What's that?  When the piece burns, a large steel plant will emerge from the flames, folding out on pivots as the structure around it burns away.  We're also planning on coating the steel so that the flames around it burn with multiple colors.

This past weekend also kicked off construction of the core structure.  We have all of the arches cut for the walls, and also nearly finished one of the corners.  This coming weekend, we should finish cutting everything for the walls.  Manufacturing of the elements for the molecular model on the interior is also well underway. Take a gander at the photo below and imagine about 10x more pieces!   (Which will also be painted & coated with black light reactive ink.)
