We are looking to produce our first full season of "It's So LA" - a scripted comedy for the web about living the dream in LA.
“It's So LA” is a scripted, comedic web series that showcases the trials and tribulations of two main female creative professionals as they try to make it in Los Angeles.
The show explores the less glamorous side of
what it takes to “live the dream”; spotlighting the ironic choices and
sacrifices, alongside the exhilarating possibility of “game changing” opportunities.
Faced with the competitive craziness of the city and its inhabitants, the girls
make their way, armed with passion and sense of humor, through the surprising
journey of discovering what success really is.
The original comedy takes inspiration from “Sex in the City”,
“Entourage” and “The Office”, and adds a “Larry David” edginess. The main characters played by Kellie Koppel and Laura Owen are real and clunky, and through various social media platforms, will be able
to interact and engage with viewers.
The ISL web series will consist of a 4-6 minute webisodes with a goal of 12 episodes per season, as well as companion content to be aired in weekly timeslots and be available for download onto mobile devices.
Beginning with the web series, we intend to create a community where engagement with sponsors is fun and ongoing; where intelligent, creative, viewers are supported in their efforts to “live the dream” .
The show and concept was first created by Kellie Koppel in 2009, and Laura Owen soon jumped on board to help develop the project. After a couple attempts to shoot a story with 5 main characters, it ended up being much easier to produce with just two. In Jan 2010 "It's So LA" was re-worked to spotlight the journeys of Liz Darby and Julia Waters with a ensemble of zany supporting characters.
With literally no money, great ideas, and the best friends in the world, Kellie has been able to solidify the concept and produce a full hour of scripted content to set the stage for the 12 episode series.
