Hi guys, it looks like some of the skillets have already shipped. Can we get an update on how many have gone out / how many left to go? Thanks!

Just popped the first beer with my bottle opener. It's awesome. Substantial, immaculately finished, and well seasoned. American Iron. I love it!

Hey gang, the last of the openers are being seasoned and shipped as we speak. So, if you haven't received yours, you will be receiving it shortly (international backers, we're trying to figure out some tariff stuff). Andrew, I just checked and that is certainly an option. We will start doing that for the rest of the shipments (for those that provided an email address).

    5. Missing_small

Creator Andrew Peters on June 21, 2012

Similar question for me. Will you be sending out a shipment notice so that I know when to expect anything?

    8. Nightpour031.small

Creator Borough Furnace on June 1, 2012

Hey there backers! Nothing to exciting to report at the moment. We're just getting all of the openers out as fast as we can make them. Everyone, should have theirs soon!

    9. Nightpour031.small

Creator Borough Furnace on May 17, 2012

Hey Elena, we're working on the last of them this week and next. We're about half-way through with openers. Yours have not shipped yet, but you'll have them by next week. Most of them have already been poured and just need to be finished and seasoned. You should have received the thank you card/ recipe months ago. I will email you to double check the address we have for you.

Hi John & Jason, Just checking in regarding bottle openers. I just want to make sure that it hasn't been lost in the mail. Will the cornbread recipe come at the same time?

    11. Nightpour031.small

Creator Borough Furnace on April 23, 2012

Hi Matthew, John was in NYC a few weeks ago and set up a spot for some people to pick theirs up. I did the same in Nashville. After that, we've been going down the spreadsheet of backers as we finish them. There isn't a particular level getting them. Just as they appear on the survey responses we got. We should have them all out soon. I think we're about halfway through.

    12. Missing_small

Creator Matthew Aichele on April 23, 2012

Hi guys, I gathered from Twitter that some people have already received bottle openers. How did you decide which backing level would get them first? I have not yet received mine.

    13. Nightpour031.small

Creator Borough Furnace on April 9, 2012

Well, we're waiting on a replacement part for the muler that should be in this week before we start on the Skillets. Until then, we're working on bottle openers and prepping the skillet hardware. If that part arrives on time, we should be testing the skillet patterns before the weekend.

I just wanted to tell you both that your Tennessee fan club is really proud of you! I know some backers are discouraged, but we know how hard you've been working and about the obstacles that keep popping up unexpectedly. You've never given up or slowed down and we are absolutely sure that you will reach your goal.

So, we've got close to 100 bottle openers cast and the exterior grinding is done. We'll be finishing the inside of those, seasoning, and casting a hundred or so more this week. We're finally running like a shop these days, and cranking them out. Stay tuned for delivery info, and a possible treat for those of you in and around New York, NY.

I have to agree with Larry, no communication and the bottle openers have never materialized. Very disappointing. It is making me seriously consider not backing any other projects.

@ Larry - Well, I'm sorry to hear that you're discouraged. It certainly has taken longer than anyone would like to build this furnace, but we are encouraged with the headway we've made and feel it's close to being done. If we didn't feel it would be successful we wouldn't be doing it. Trust me, it's not pleasant when you spill 5 gallons of veg. oil on yourself. As to the updates, some people want tons some don't want any at all. I've tried to save it for big changes, as not to annoy people. Perhaps it would be best if I post a weekly comment here instead of a full update that gets sent out. Also, follow us on Twitter @boroughfurnace where I try to post cool furnace photos and videos. Once the pans start rolling out you'll be proud to have been a part of something so ambitious. - Jason

So what are the odds at this point that you will be successful with this project? Nothing but discouraging new from start. Great idea but seems that execution is not going to be there. Would love to see at least a bottle opener and have learned not to be so enthusiastic about this type of ambitions project. Occasional status updates, weekly, would have been nice. I'm sure the other 192 backers feel the same way. Didn't even get the cornbread recipe. :(

    27. Nightpour031.small

My last comment was after we first melted iron. Since then, the muller transmission burned out and the furnace has been spotty, at best. We've still got kinks, it seems. We won't be able to take additional holiday orders, but we're going to get everyone's gifs out asap.

    28. Missing_small

Creator Larry Ikard on December 4, 2011

Radio silence for over a month. What gives? How many bottle openers have been poured at this point and what is the status on skillets and your ability to take additional orders?

    29. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Larry Mackinson on December 1, 2011

What is the latest? Been awhile with no news.

    30. Nightpour031.small

Creator Borough Furnace on October 31, 2011

Larry, nothing concrete yet, but bottle openers should start and finish this week/end. Then it's a matter of our skillet patterns which are still being tested by the foundry-man in MI who crafted them. We will open orders on the website up just as we're finishing up Kickstarter gifts. We are shooting to take additional orders by Thanksgiving or round abouts.

    31. Missing_small

Creator Larry Ikard on October 31, 2011

Any word on when the goods might be shipped, and when we'll be able to place orders for more (holiday season is around the corner)?

Thanks everyone for your support and enthusiasm! We've been busting our tails to get everything up and running asap, and send out those skillets.

@Jane: We will be working with students from Syracuse University and other artists in the area to produce fine-art work. As well as having occasional public iron pours to involve the community and create sculpture.
