Hey there beautiful people!
Thanks for visiting our Kickstarter page! For anyone stopping by because of amazing coincidence, word of mouth, or sheer luck (ours, of course!) who doesn't know us already, we're the acoustic rock band SPINN out of northern New Jersey. If you'd like to know what you've just gotten yourself into, you can listen to our jams on the Spinn Music website!!
THE PLAN: We're heading back into the studio for the second time, but we're changing it up a little! Instead of doing another full length album, we're going to focus in on a smaller collection of 5 songs so we can make each song everything we know it can be! A lot goes into recording, and we can't do it without your help!
OUR GOAL: We have great new music we think you're really going to L-O-V-E, and this is what we have to do so you can hear them; Record (FUN!) at Small Room Studio in Yonkers, NY, mix and master the songs, design the album artwork, and create the CDs. To accomplish all of this, we really need AT LEAST $1,500! With Kickstarter, the funding is all or nothing so we set the goal low, better safe than sorry. However, if we raise more funds we could do really awesome stuff like hire extra studio musicians, record a music video, and bring in outside marketing and PR. It would be ab-fab to find new ways to expose our music!
THE REWARDS: In return for your generous pledges (and of course your undying devotion!) we made you macaroni art picture frames and bedazzled your favorite T-shirt!! JUST KIDDING! But we do have some great rewards that we think you're going to love just as much! You could get a copy of the new CD before its release, dinner with Spinn, an original song written for you, or even hang with us in the studio while we record. Good times, right? Spinn is an Acoustic Rock band known for their truthful lyrics and chill inducing harmonies. Using different aspects of rock, country, folk, and pop, Spinn has created a sound that isn’t confined to any one genre.
The songwriting styles of singers Cheryl Lynn and Stephanie Spinner combined with the ultra-melodic vocals of Megan Battaglia is where Spinn begins. The girls seem to possess an ability to hit home with listeners, as if the audience is hearing their own story told back to them. Like a fugue and its counterpoint, Steve DeSteno’s guitar playing and Dominick Velardo’s percussion help to bring a calm balance to the often harsh reality of the stories told.
On stage, the Spinn girls come alive with wit and giggles that draw in unsuspecting bystanders. Then they unleash what they refer to as “the shock factor”. Picture three girls in 3-inch heels “gracefully” lugging equipment into a bar full of tattooed, leather-clad bikers. The sneering men watch as the perceived “groupies” then take the stage. Have you ever actually seen someone’s jaw hit the floor?
