WMMF is looking for financial help to film the video for the first single off their new album, You Can't Fall Off The Floor.
ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
What Made Milwaukee Famous have been a band for almost 10 years now. We’ve been lucky enough to have participated in some of the nation’s biggest festivals (Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Festival, Free Press Summer Fest, SXSW, Sasquatch, CMJ, and Bonnaroo to name a few) and even landed a spot on an Austin City Limits taping with Franz Ferdinand. After a grueling tour schedule in 2008 plagued by soaring gas prices, the band was forced to regroup and sort out the financial destitution that ensued. Several maxed out credit cards and cashed out 401k’s later, the band has finally finished recording and mixing our third LP, You Can’t Fall Off The Floor with help from Danny Reisch (Shearwater, White Denim, Okkervil River) and are gearing up to self-release our first single “Gone and Done It Now” to raise money to master and manufacture CD’s and vinyl of the new album. WMMF has had a tradition of releasing great videos for each album (Selling Yourself Short, The Jeopardy of Contentment, Sultan) and would like to make no exceptions for this record. The video for “Gone and Done It Now” will document the talk show of the enigmatic Artemio Jones and will be filmed and directed by Mark Spacek in Austin, TX. The costs of recording a music video can be exorbitant, so we are utilizing kickstarter to help raise money to pay for the making of the video. We’re offering packages such as Epiphone Les Paul guitars signed by the band, acoustic Skype sets, guitar lessons, a homemade dinner with the band, a private WMMF show, a chance for you to be in the “Gone and Done It Now” video yourself, and much more! We see this as a chance to not only offer some cool merchandise to our listeners, but also as a chance to connect directly with our fans. Our goal for the campaign is $15,000, which will go towards payment for the cast, crew, video editors, and all other costs associated with making and promoting the video, single, and the album. We thank you so much for all of your support through the years and would greatly appreciate if you can help us reach our goal for this project so that we can film this video and promote our single to help get this new album out to the world. However, if we do not receive the full $15,000 in donations, we will not receive anything from the campaign at all.
