About this project
I’m coming to kickstarter because I am a designer with a dream and highly need kickstarters help! My full time job consists of me working on my collection by myself. I sew, pattern make and make my samples myself which is a LOT of work, but definitely now looking for help from manufacturers to help produce, cut, sew and make my samples for me.
Designing and creating is something I am extremely passionate about and I am highly driven to succeed. Just this past New York Mercedes Benz fashion week, I crashed the show at Lincoln Center with my own gorilla style runway show, showing a few of my pieces. After my brilliant marketing stunt, I received so much awesome feedback as well as being featured on NY magazine as Top 25 Most Stylish people in addition to being featured on many sites and blogs.
So with the growing attention and status of Shavonne DeAnn I plan to keep my brand buzzing and giving people fresh, young and new women’s ready-to-wear! My goal is to not only get my label off to a good start, but also bring fashion and manufacturing back to PHILADELPHIA.
I believe Philadelphia has an array of talent. I want to keep the dream alive for designers in this great city and anywhere else to just INSPIRE new talent to enter this industry with no hesitation!
The money raised through kickstarter will not only help towards my Spring/Summer 2011 for my fabric, manufacturing, trims, sewing, and cutting but one step closer to obtaining my dream! This is my pursuit to happiness…

New fashion designer on a pursuit to happiness and on a mission to make my dreams a reality! Designed in her heart and created in June 2010, Shavonne DeAnn is a fresh, new and fun line that targets the confident, fearless, and fashionable young woman. The line, inspired by the stories found in fabrics and textures, is subtly sexy without being too revealing.
A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design (BFA in Fashion Design), Shavonne has interned at TRACE magazine as a fashion assistant and with Kate Spade as a production assistant. TRACE magazine was a great opportunity for her to hone her styling skills while her time with Kate Spade allowed her to explore the business side of the industry. Inspired by her own personal style, fashion blogs, and people on the street, Shavonne tested her own fearlessness when she débuted her line to the world during New York’s Fashion Week outside of the Lincoln Center. An audacious, guerilla marketing-style stunt during the busiest time in the fashion world, she was met with rave reviews from the crowd, editors, NYC police, and even warm praises from stylist extraordinaire, June Ambrose.
A young designer equipped with enough passion, talent, and faith to power a major city, Shavonne is clear about her vision and developing her line, into a brand. My overall vision is to have a luxury brand that makes women feel happy, comfortable satisfied and sexy when they wear Shavonne DeAnn,” she reveals.
