Pen and Paper gamers all need character sheets. But whether they need actual pens and paper is another story.
First a little history: PFRPG is an off-shoot of that ever-classic Pen and Paper RPG, Dungeons and Dragons. Its rules are included in the Open Gaming License (which allows me to make this game app). PFRPG is basically D&D version 3.75, which was made by fans of D&D 3.5 for fans of D&D 3.5 when Wizards of the Coast abandoned that system and made D&D 4. Now PFRPG is so popular that many to assume it is now more popular than D&D itself.

This project is brought to you by my own frustration. I am a technophile, and I like using electronics when possible to track my character information. But the current options out there are clunky, and downright unpleasant to use.
Most D&D players say nothing beats good old pen and paper for character sheets, but I think its just because nothing really usable exists as an alternative. At least not for any device you actually want everyone to have at the gaming table.
So there were my criteria:

- Can be used on a tablet/phone
With this simple app, which is cross compatible with Android, iOS, PC & Mac, D&D players can store, modify and create their characters, look up rules, create custom classes, races, feats, abilities, skills and items, and even roll many types of checks which are logged in a convenient character history so you can reexamine past battles.
I will release the game app for free for the PC and Mac as well as a free Web version which has limited customizability options, and a cheap iOS and Android version (I only charge for these because of the difficulty in porting for mobile and maintaining the code).
I want everyone to be able to play their games, their way, wherever they are. With this app, you have everything you need to play D&D(Assuming you have friends and some rules references) wherever you are.
Money raised from this KickStarter will allow me to continue to focus all of my energy towards this project until it is done, and wont have to *gasp* find a real job before it's complete.
In the future I am planning on adding many more advanced features, such as:
- Character sheet transfer
- An online repository of custom made content
- A service that will allow GMs to host sheets allowing them to controll changes that players make to them.
- And a PC only GM suite that includes many other tools, including a map builder / manager and an advanced creation suite for making and storing campaign specific monsters, items, abilities and NPCs.

*EDIT* I was contacted by the publisher of the D&D variant that this is based off of, they requested that I not link directly to their site or mention their campaign setting by name. The PFRPG name is in the Open Gaming License however. Needless to say this app is compatible with said RPG variant that cannot be named, and with D&D 3.5.
