Hey Folks!

It's been awhile since the last update, but now I think is the perfect time to let everyone know that I will be putting Super back on here in the next couple weeks! The color work on the book is moving along and I feel it's high-time to get the ball rolling again. Our new goal will be a mere $10,000 ($6,000 less!) to cover printing costs and shipping to to all those who pledge. Anything we make over the goal will go to either printing more copies (or switching to hardcover if we raise enough), registration fees for conventions, or paying for color work (so that I could use my money for other things to support the book, like travel expenses).

Once I have a link to the new pledge page, I'll send it along to everyone in another update like this one. In the meantime, I want to thank you again for the support and encouragement.

Hey there folks!

Sadly, as you can see, we did not hit our goal. We came close to the 50% mark, and I had some favors I could have called in to get it to 70-75%, but that still would have left us short.

So how do I feel? Alright, actually. Sure, I'm a little disappointed (who wouldn't be?), but I'm fine. Look, we had a pretty lofty goal there and to be able to say we did somewhere in the 10000-12000 range is saying a lot, especially in this economy. So instead of us looking at this as a defeat, I'm going to view it as a minor postponement in as far as our release date goes. It would be silly to have come this far, having a graphic novel that is complete save for colors, and stop now.

So I won't.

Instead, my current plan is to take the next several months and fund the coloring of the book myself. After that, the good folks here at Kickstarter have told me I can put the project back up with a lower goal. That way, if we can get back most of the pledges we had here the first time out, we should be golden. And who knows? Maybe we'll be able to save some money in the interim and lower the goal even further. See? Not so bad. Instead of an April/May release date, we'll just go ahead and push it back to around September/October.

While we wait for the color work to get finished, I'll continue updating the project at least once a month on here and aberrantpress.com (just in case they take this page down in the future). I'll put up new colored and lettered pages from the book along with any extra materials I find along the way.

That said, I want to thank you all so much for backing this book. Despite not hitting our initial goal here, I found this whole process very rewarding and educational. You guys surprised me with the sheer amount of your generosity and faith and I am humbled. So again, thank you for the support. I couldn't have gotten this far without you.

Here's hoping you'll be back with us in the future to get this thing done on the second round!

Figured it was time to post the first of the sketches I'll be doing for people who pledge above the $60 level. I thought I'd mix in a few of these cover homages (which take longer since they usually involve more than just a simple character shot), but I had so much fun that they'll actually be the predominant kind of sketch I do! I'll be posting more of these as we go and I figure out which iconic covers to give the "super" treatment next.
