About this project

Basically I want to change the world of cookies as we know it. ;) In order to do that though, I need to re-launch my company, The Cookie Chew. I make truffle stuffed cookies, or what I like to call "truffies" and cocktail cookies, cookies mirrored after some of our favorite cocktail drinks. I went to school for accounting and realized right after I graduated that accounting is definitely not for me. There's just no room for creativity and I really need it. So about 2 years ago, I decided to quit and go on a mission's trip to Lira, Uganda. The most awesome place ever! But when I got back I knew I had to do something else...anything other than accounting and so I started a cookie company, making different and unique cookies in which I could exercise my creative passion. I pursued it full time passionately for about a year and a half until I had wiped clean my savings and racked up a ton of credit card debt. Scary...I know! Unfortunately, lack of focus and adequate planning forced me financially to take a 6 month hiatus to start working a full-time job, until now.

There's so much of my heart and passion in those cookies and they're just so good with so much potential, that I can't let it go. Taking everything I’ve learned from my first attempt with adequate planning, I believe I’m ready to re-launch the business but I need a little starting capital. So here I am on kickstarter hoping to raise the $4,500 needed to resume business again. All my licenses, insurance and permits have expired and need to be re-filed and re-newed, which will be about $1,500. I'm also going to need to find a commercial kitchen to rent bake space from about $600 a month. In addition, my website is horrible for online ordering and driving traffic so, I would like to develop a new website easier to use and that can actually place orders, another $1,500. And finally, get baking equipment! I can't tell you how many nights I stayed up until 3 am baking cookies with a hand held mixer! After your 300th or 400th cookie, it gets pretty tiring!

The ultimate vision for The Cookie Chew is to have a bakery centered on all kinds of unique, different and delicious cookies and community. A place where people can hang out, sip on coffee and frozen hot chocolate & enjoy community, with walls lined with bins of bulk mix n' match unique cookie concoctions. Thanks for your support!
