Update #16: Hello from Murder of Crows!
Update #15: Print proof has been ordered!
Howdy, folks!
I just wanted to update and let you all know the print proof has been ordered and should be on my desk by Tuesday. If it looks good and everything is in the proper place – I will be releasing the print for sale on Amazon next week! Woohooo!!
For all of you waiting on a physical copy (5x8 paperback) it will still be a bit since I will have to order a shipment to me to sign and then send out in the reward packages.
We are getting closer!
Murder of Crows went live on Amazon on Monday and already there are two reviews on the page. Only one shows up at the top, but they are both visible at the bottom. http://www.amazon.com/Murder-Crows-Pillars-Dawn-ebook/dp/B007SNVWBI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334097712&sr=8-1
Thank you for reviewing! The reviews help Murder of Crows climb the charts out of obscurity into the public eye. For each review, I have an exponential chance of Murder of Crows popping up on searches and “if you like” recommendations.
Tonight Murder of Crows ranks like this “Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #153,408 Paid in Kindle Store.”
That means there’s a way to climb! But I believe we can do it! I was jumping around the house like a lunatic the day the first customer reviews posted. A-Maz-Ing.
For all of you curled up with your Kindles and Nooks, I hope you are enjoying the story so far and I will check back with news when the proof arrives.
Thank you!!
Happy reading!
Toodles,
Athena
Update #14: Murder of Crows is LIVE!
Update #13: Rollin' Along!
Update #12: We did it!!!
We made it!!!
Thank you! Thank you, everyone!
Today we crossed over the threshold of being successfully funded. This morning was spent answering frantic emails, texts and calls from friends and family who were obsessively refreshing the Kickstarter page and biting fingernails. Then in the last heated minutes several donations rocketed us right over the finish line and up to 108% funding.
I about fell out of my chair. Then strangely, I began shaking and crying uncontrollably. Shrieking that we’d done it and trying to answer texts but my hands were trembling too hard.
I confess, I had doubts. I’ll even admit to thinking it really wouldn’t happen. Please forgive me for losing my faith, even for a moment.
You all came through with such amazing conviction, with such generosity and enthusiasm that I am awash in waves of gratitude and awe.
I’ve received word from the formatter that we will be able to make an April 9th launch. ‘Murder of Crows’ will be a real book!
I’m so looking forward to being able to pay the amazing artisans who contributed to this project and for the polish their hard work put on the book so that it has a legitimate chance of success at market. Thank you!
I’ll be updating soon with more promised information and extras, and in the meantime I’ll be getting started on those thank you notes – notes I’m super excited and happy to write!
Thank you, everyone! Thank you. ‘Murder of Crows’ will now have a successful launch because of your generosity and encouragement. Thank you for helping make this dream a reality!!
Please have a wonderful day and I will be in touch shortly with questions about your reward preferences.
Sincerely and most gratefully,
Athena

My name is Athena. I’m a mononame.
I’ve been writing for fifteen years. My first book, ‘Ghosts of Seattle’ was published by Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. 2007.
I’m a realistic-optimist, conversing in my own discombobulated vernacular of made up words and mannerisms. I like to call myself spunky, but it’s probably just a nice way of saying too stubborn to accept “no”. Rarely fashionable, frequently confused, often animated, sporadically intelligible, always caffeinated, intermittently grandiose, but never without creativity.
