vinyl release of an original soul-jazz project featuring Alex Nauman, Matt Smiley, Gy Moody, Brad Edwards, Ben Johns, and Erik Olson
Good news; we have met our goal of $1600! We can't thank you enough for helping make this real!
However, the initial goal of $1600 we set is the BARE minimum amount we need. In reality that amount is only a portion of what we will be paying to get the things finalized. So from here on out we are setting a new goal of $3000. We still have 24 days until the kickstarter expires and we get to keep any money we raise over the initial goal amount.
If we meet our new goal we'll have enough to offer some significant perks that will make the finished product better for everyone. These include:
upgrading to 180g audiophile vinyl
sending the recording to a professional mastering engineer to get THE best sound possible
the ability to add more songs to each side of the record
getting really awesome album cover printing
If we make our new goal we'll be giving away new rewards to all the backers including tickets to one of the release parties, exclusive blooper videos just for backers, and a random lotto-style drawing of everyone who pledges for a test pressing from the record plant!
Please don't wait until the album comes out. By pre-ordering and helping us now you can make this project the best it can possibly be!
Thanks for your support,
About the Project:
Too Tight! is a special collaboration between the Alex Nauman Organ Trio [Erik Olson - organ, Brad Edwards - drums, Alex Nauman - guitar], Matt Smiley - bass, Gy Moody - percussion, and Ben Johns - saxophones. We came together to fulfill a collective dream of everyone involved.... record and release an album straight to vinyl LP. Don't have a turntable?? No worries... digital downloads will also be available!
About the Album:
The record consists of original material written mainly by Alex and Erik. The music tips a hat to 60's soul/jazz & gospel pioneers like Ray Charles, Ivan "Boogaloo" Jones, Grant Green, Kenny Burrell, and Stanley Turrentine to name a few. All of the recording has been done but we're seeking your help to raise the remaining funds to get it cut and pressed.
How this works:
Pressing vinyl is expensive!! We need your help to make this album a reality. In exchange for your donation you get a number of rewards [see column to the right]. Think of it like part pre-sale album order, part PBS fund-drive. Want more than one copy?? No problem, just donate and send a note with the order and well get it done. We'll be posting updates along the way so you'll be able to watch the progress as we go!
Your generous contributions will go directly towards paying for:
Cutting Masters/Pressing Vinyl
Graphic Design Work
Misc. Expenses [shipping costs, misc. fees, copyright forms, etc.]
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
