About this project

We would like to start a yearly, completely outdoor aerial dance show using all that is already there (trees, rocks, vines, etc.) as our equipment and creative palate. Artist, Charles Clendenin, will collaborate with us, creating natural sculptures for us to climb on, swing from, and use as our dance playground. We will use each other's bodies, the landscape of the National Forest near the southern starting point of the Appalachian Trail, and the inspired creations we bend, tie, and stack for our dance of deep play.

We want our shows to be about connected living and all possible meanings of those two words.

We are asking for money strictly to buy a few safety equipment needs like metal cleats to provide extra support and strength at joints that will be taking most of our weight, tying and climbing ropes, and a few others. However, we hope to generate interest in our show and hope many more sponsors would like to give just to get tickets or a dvd of our show!

Starting a yearly outdoor show is a dear project to us because in all of our dance we hope to promote maximum connectivity and find nothing more connecting than nature. It connects us to ourselves, each other and all that is. Whether our yearly theme varies in its meaningful details, in general we want our outdoor shows to be about natural beauty, sustainability, and our deep connection to the earth. We want to playfully and gracefully speak with our bodies and say "See, we have everything that we need right out here in nature. Don’t you feel the connection? Don't you feel the magic?"
