Update #2: NEW REWARD STRUCTURE THAT MAKES SENSE!

Posted on August 23, 2011

Rationalized reward structure. I really didn't know what I was doing, now it's much much better.

Now you can get something for any level of participation, up to remixes, mixing, mastering.

I waited too long to do this, but there are still 9 days so if people post, repost, tweet, etc I might just make it? IDK. Thanks!

This will include your name in the album credits. IMPORTANT: This does NOT become an assignation of any of my rights or the other artists' rights to the songs.

I've had an unusual career in music; at one point I was part of one of the first punk rock bands in the USA (the Vomit Pigs) in 1976; I've been fortunate enough to work with my favorite hiphop artists, the Jungle Brothers, and remain friends ever since.

Through the late 80's into the mid 90's, I did all kinds of edits and remixes for major labels (before every A&R man in the country had ProTools on his office desk), mostly when living in LA and NYC. When the possibility of a Jungle Brothers reunion was floated by their DJ, Sammy B, I knew I would want to be part of it and was gratified to find that they wanted me in as well.

Currently, I'm writing the songs for and playing in an indie-rock band in Austin, TX called Beautiful Supermachines and looking to produce, mix, and master bands that I like here or anywhere else.

There will soon be an interview with me at this blog: http://unheard78.blogspot.com/2011/01/david-williams-is-awesome.html

(That link is an enthusiastic post of a VERY early scratch track that I sent Af of the JBs-- just enough for him to get a feel and work on lyrics before more work is done)

that will clear up some confusion about my participation on the third Jungle Brothers album, work which much to my surprise, has proven influential to underground hiphop in the intervening years.

UPDATE: here is the interview: http://unheard78.blogspot.com/2011/08/david-williams-talks-about-jungle.html
