Earlier this year we unplugged our instruments and filmed an acoustic set of our music with an amazing 3 piece string section.
In February of this year, our band, Kaura ( www.kaura.com ) got together with some amazing string players and put together a 6 song set of our music acoustically. String arrangements were written and after many rehearsals we were ready to share the music with the world. With a lot of help from our friends, we rented gear, borrowed cameras and built a set inside our practice space in Los Angeles. Using 7 cameras we filmed our set from many angles and were really happy with the way it came out. Our goal is to edit all 6 songs and release it digitally and on DVD. We were able to mix and edit one song so everyone could get an idea of how the DVD would look.
Our initial goal is $2500 which will cover:
-The video editing, which is a lot of work as each song has 7 angles, each camera needs to be synced and color balanced with the others.
-The mixing and mastering of the audio
-Designing and pressing copies of the actual DVD.
