DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

“As the director and writer, I developed a script to collaborate with my crew on this short film, Dark Thinker. I am so excited about the chance to direct a dark thriller film that develops at slower pace. I feel confident that if I am able to put into effect the vision in my mind, we will have produced a film worthy of the festival circuit.”

SYNOPSIS

This is a suspense/thriller about a profoundly-deaf social outcast named Hick, who has a hard time fitting in a world he feels unwelcome in. He tries to make several attachments, including one with a sweet hearing lady, and becomes obsessed with her. Unlike the rest of us, Hick turns to darker methods to get what he wants... True Love and Acceptance.

Dark Thinker is a short, independent film driven by the determined efforts of our crew, from the producer, director, cinematographer, editor, visual effects, right down to our amazing actors. Our main goal is to create a film that demonstrates the collaboration of such talented people, presented for all audiences to enjoy.

ABOUT YOUR MONEY

This short film can be possible by YOUR generosity. With the goal of the smallest possible budget in mind, we can process unstoppable production to achieve as many donations as possible. Our budget is $1,000, but we will need more than that to support this exciting project! With your donations, you can help us secure locations, wardrobes, festival submissions, catering, and of course, support our actors. With this, we can cover production costs and submit to as many festivals as we can! 

We would like to say right off the bat that you know we need $1,000 or more and maybe you're thinking "well, my $5 won't matter", but believe me, it will. If all of friends and fans on facebook gave only $5 each, we could make this movie!

PRE-PRODUCTION

It has started. We started to budget and schedule everything together. When we get closer to reaching our financial goal, we will start to arrange the elements necessary to make this film (ie. locations, catering, etc). 

PRODUCTION

Production of Dark Thinker will take place in the Orange, California, and Los Angeles, CA, and the location in the story remains ambiguous. We will require four shoot days for this project. The script is twenty pages. The production is scheduled to shoot the week of January 3, 2013.

POST PRODUCTION

We will start immediately after production. It is estimated to take us through the midweek of Feburary. We expect the final product to be approximately 18 in run time. We wish to release the film in mid-2013.
