About this project

Hello everyone, I'm Daniel Gildenhorn, aka. Professor CC, and I am a singer/songwriter originally from Maryland.
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my Kickstarter project!

Im an independent artist. Which means I am totally D.I.Y. ~ I don't have a manager, agent or record company. And though funding projects can sometimes be a challenge, the upside is that I have complete creative control to create an album that you will all hopefully love.

I have a bunch of new songs in the works, a studio picked out (aw yeah!), dates set, and a producer (Super Talented & cool!), and now I am trying to raise the funding for the project. I have set a budget of $2000 to record the album and hope that you (my friends and fans) will help me to make this album not just a dream...but a reality.

I'm not looking for money for extravagant production tricks, bowls of blue M&Ms, and auto-tuning. I just want to make an album that focuses on the fundamentals -- the musicianship and the music. And I need your help.

Following a great year of touring with a steadily and ever growing fan base, I have once again begun to write and compile new material and drop studio tracks with some hand picked unbelievably talented people from across the country. $2000.00 is the bare-bones minimum figure I need to make this project happen, and hopefully, we can raise far more so that we can afford a publicist to help us promote the release and subsequent tour. We all believe in this project so much, but we can't do it alone.



We are entering a new era in the music business. It allows for us innovate in ways to reach listeners, create new fans, and rise above the competition. We are currently experimenting with viral videos, blogs, and all the social networking possibilities available to musicians, and we are constantly on the lookout for new entrepreneurial options. So far, nothing has emerged as a definitive alternative to the conventional big money record label. Kickstarter.com models a promising possibility of what a 21st century record label might look like.

So, Instead of submitting my record to dozens of indy labels that probably don't have the infrastructure to help much anyway, I am making Kickstarter our "label," and you, the people, will be our executive producer. A donation towards our next album, says you believe in our music, our philosophy, and you want to put ProfessorCC in the spotlight. Let's make the transition to a new era in which you, the music lovers, decide who rises up!
