Experience a living theater of transformation and awaken into the dream. A Dance. A Song. A Feast. A Surrealization.
We are in the process of creating a theater of living transformation and revolution where we experiment with Surrealism through food, text, movement, and sound. This typhoon of an evening is a collaborative effort between 9 dance artists, an actor, a chef and poet, a musician, and a home. For those who can attend, this performance is a dinner party that delights and distorts the senses. The live dinner performance will take place May 18th & 19th, with a video project to follow. We are breaking down the fourth wall and inviting guests to interact with installations, participating in their own transformation.
Turn the handle and open the gate. Before you, a bird in a tree...or is that a woman? A Nest. A Clockworks. A Temple. Ashes in the Boneyard. Something dancing at the edge of shadow.
This project began as a collaboration between three humans from different mediums with a common desire; to experiment with consciousness and presence. We are interested in lifting the veil, dancing just to the brink of trance, and exploring impossibility.
Justin Anderson - (Sound and Video) In the beginning there was the word. Word sound vibration.
Nicole Dagesse - (Dance and Direction) The world is inside of us, in our coursing blood, on the landscape of our skin, in the striations of our muscles, and the wrinkles of our brains. As the earth moves, so do we, and so must I. I have always felt my body moving, and desiring to move further.
Kenny Richards - (Food and Text) Sunshine wine is fine, but this moon whiskey - frisky mirth.
We would love for you to be a part of this experiment in transformation. While the ticket price for audience members will cover costs of materials, without this campaign we will be unable to pay the incredible artists! With 12 artists, a photographer, and a videographer, any support you can offer helps to validate the choices of a performing artist and encourage collaborative, site specific, interdisciplinary projects.
