One of the biggest reasons we hear from people about why they do not buy locally produced food is that it is not convenient.  It cannot get more convenient than being delivered to your door!  In doing so with an old time horse drawn delivery wagon, we hope to also bring joy into town life in the cold winter.  We will be delivering a box to 90 customers each week that contains a mix of farm products from us and farmer friends of ours who share a similar vision of environmental and economic sustainability.

Wintertime sales for us and many businesses around the coast of Maine are very slow.  Here at the vineyard in the summer we generally have to do all of our farm work plus all of our sales work in 4 months of the summer.  By focusing more on direct to consumer sales in the winter, our work load is spread more evenly over the course of the year.  We will also be reaching a more local crowd which we believe to be more sustainable in the long run than catering to the tourist traffic.

Pursuing this project is going to require some additional funding.  We need help purchasing a horse drawn delivery wagon, wooden boxes for delivery, a horse trailer to get Don into town, and some marketing and promotional materials.  We hope that you can help us realize our vision.  We think this project will be a great thing for lots of folks in our community.  Thank you for your support!
