The Kitchen is the heart of the Azorean family. I want to bring my culture through food to the bay area.
The Over Fed Chef
It took 25 years and 5600 miles for me to realize that all the flavors I love are from my family's island of origin Ribeirinha, Sao Migeul, Azores. Sunday dinner is the most important meal for most Mediterranean families which is why I want to bring that to The Guest Chef in this pop up. The Menu will focus on my culture and cuisine.
Was and still is the dream restaurant of mine. Francine was my mother's name but everyone knew her as teeny, standing 5'3" tall. She was full of more life and energy then anyone I ever met and gave me the love of food early on. She was never afraid to try something new and forced me to try it too, and I thank her for torturing me as a small child with these new and exotic tastes.

"Most people know surprisingly little about my family’s homeland, and even less about our food. And for good reason: Strewn some 1,000 miles off the coast of Portugal, the Azores — São Miguel, Faial, São Jorge and six other islands — are happily marooned in the middle of the Atlantic. Unfortunately, so too is our distinctive cuisine."
