Help us bring the powerful Torque 2D game engine to Android based devices including the Ouya console.
WHAT IS TORQUE 2D?
NOTE: All work and support for the Torque 2D MIT Android version is being done by Max Gaming Technologies, and GarageGames is not affiliated directly with this project other than being the original developer of the Torque 2D game engine, now available under the MIT license.
Max Gaming is a small independent game developer that has a decade of experience in the games industry. We have been using the Torque based engines since the very first one was released based on the Tribes 2 code (V12). We have also created and released several games with the Torque 2D engine for iOS, Windows, Linux and Mac and we continue to work with the engines to this day.
Max Gaming has done several ports to a variety of platforms, including porting T2D to work on XBOX 360 and porting of other engines from iOS to Android, Windows Phone 7 and of course PC games to multiple platforms.
Max Gaming's first Torque 2D title launched in 2006, after 4 years of using Torque 3D.
As part of the intial funding we will be adding Linux support for T2D as part of the package. Thanks to "TRON" from the Garagegames community for contributing to help add to T2D MIT list of platforms.
Stretch Goal #1: (Basic Shader support) - $12,000
We will upgrade OpenGL in the engine on all current platforms (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android) to use the programmable pipeline and supply basic 2d shaders. This will add a simple shader layer to the engine so that you can use custom shader effects for you game if you wish to or you can continue like now and just use the built in shaders.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
While there are risks around any software project like this, we have been making games for almost a decade here at Max Gaming and for this project we are using engine technology that we have used since 2002.
As Max Gaming is a third party contractor, it is possible but unlikely there could be short delays in delivery based on other project run overs, but the whole reason we are asking for support is to mitigate that issue.
If something unforeseen were to happen during development where we could not complete port we will release unfinished code via GitHub.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
