Based just outside of NYC in the countryside, Cronin has already produced seventeen new paintings and three large scale sculptures in 2011 and he is packing the crates to take them on the road from Asbuary Park, NJ, to Los Angeles, to New Orleans and Miami/Basel. This is no small feat considering his work scales 4' x 4' and his largest sculpture of a UFO measures more than 8' 6" in diameter and weighs over 200 pounds! From September through December, he will have over 50 pieces of art circulating the country. Travel costs are high given the scale of his work and the distances in-between each location and money is his only obstacle. To boot, Ryan and I are a husband and wife team, with a partner (Erica Miller, of Miller & Cronin). The three of us together have a charming story of how we all came together (I'll fill you in on that another time) and are pushing our way through the art world. We have been embraced by some and told we are breaking the rules by others. Regardless, we keep truckin' forward! Ryan, Erica and I dedicate our days to moving his career to the next level and this next run of shows will be that push that we have all been working for.

We are busy putting the pieces together, making travel arrangements, finding couches to surf on in various states, building crates for shipping (5' x 5' x 3') and securing a way to ship the UFO. Here's a link to photos of it being built,

REC is also mapping out his installation for Miami in The Kohn Compound in the Wynwood District. It entails covering a 24' truck with large-scale cut outs of mermaids and other iconographic creatures. This alone is a huge undertaking. We are very creative when it comes to finding ways to get things done, but creativity only gets you so far.
