A quick question, Chummer (trying to be helpful). Have you logged in to the HBS Account website yet? Not www.harebrained-schemes.com but the one at https://account.harebrained-schemes.com -they are two different "sites"
If the answer is yes, then you haven't missed anything yet email wise. However, email from HBS comes from @hbs-studios.com - and you may want to whitelist this domain in your email account settings so it doesn't get marked as spam by accident. ^_^

@Shosuro Unfortunately, many many Kickstarter projects have backers that are not part of the Kickstarter itself (i.e. Paypal or other pre-order type backer systems). Yes, Backers should be notified first, but Kickstarter is not (necessarily) synonymous with Backer, so I'm on board with the first notice going on the HBS website (which is public and various news sites grabbed immediately). The HBS post on their website was the same day as Update #53, so I'd guess the distribution of the same information to various channels was only a few hours different at most. Considering that the news was "please wait 6 weeks" I find it pretty amusing that people are getting bent out of shape over a few hours difference in getting the news.

Yeah i got my KS-Mail before i read it on other sites but reading about it here i'm a bit pissed too like you guys that we as the backers didn't get the info first handed, would be nice to get a statement from HBS on this.
About the delay: was looking forward to playing the game end of the month, but i can live with another month of waiting if they think they need the time for polishing their work.
Getting access to the editor end of june would be a nice thing but i'd understand if the 250+ would be pissed because the payed for early access (yeah they got the thing for a month but i can still understand :-)
So nothing left to do but keep calm an stay in the shadows :-)

I'm extraordinarily disappointed about this delay and how poorly it was communicated. I was looking forward to this release as the first Kickstarter I've pledged that I will get to actually play. I had vacation time through to the 4th of July, just waiting to play this, and now all of the sudden after months of being listed as a June release date in Steam it has been delayed a full month. I don't really care what remaining polish you guys have to do in the next month, I'm already sold on the game.

@Cornelious They did send out the Update via email, within hours of the press release going out. Granted, as a backer I'd have preferred the email Update was sent prior to the press release, but they did send the email the same morning, it's not as if they didn't. There are understandable reasons to be both disgruntled as well as elated regarding this project over the past year, so no need to raise false flags.

It would certainly be one hell of an offering if they launched the editor at the end of June, but still, it's highly unlikely to happen. Oh well! Another month to wait - but that's okay actually, because by then hopefully the amount of UCG will have increased quite a lot and we'll have even more stuff to play once the campaign is done :D

@Tim It totes could! The best cure for that would be for the guy to come on here and say that. Simple, straightforward, the problem would be solved.
But that's not happening. It reminds me of the DRM debacle (on a much smaller, more trivial scale). HBS might be good at games, we'll find out in about six weeks, but they've got a history of dropping the ball on messaging. :|

Maybe I'm just insufficiently cynical, but couldn't this just be a case of "Okay, you handle the press release to the press, and you handle the message to the Kickstarter backers", and the kickstarter guy had other stuff to do? Like, maybe also work on the game?
You get to the last month of a big project and you can't know ahead of time how many bugs there's going to be, or how many rough spots will crop up in need of polish.

I suspect the editor won't be available until the game itself is, and will be provided in the same download package.
It WOULD be nice to release the editor earlier to all backers, say end of June - it might help ease some of the pinch of the delay and the various communication hiccups that have occurred, and it wouldn't be breaking any promises ($250 tier has had earlier access than other tiers). But this is just woolgathering on my part.

Hearing that the game will be out soon and all my stuff will be mailed to me is awesome, even if I have to wait until after the game releases. I WILL Devil's Advocate a moment and say that they might have wanted to wait until the press release had "taken" before putting out a less formal word in public venues, to avoid blogs misrepresenting the facts. I'm not sure that holds up to scrutiny (not a lawyer, etc.) but it's the only thing I can think of.

I'm assuming someone from Harebrained Schemes is reading these so I want to second the question of why we're hearing about this from a third party three weeks into June. Delays happen, but communication is something that these guys have complete control over. I think we're owed that much.
Now the whining: At this point I'm not entirely sure how enthusiastic I would be to back another Harebrained Schemes project. I understand that delays happen, but I can't understand their reasons for handling them like they do.

Fans have been constantly asking for a release date on the Harebrained Schemes facebook page for weeks now, you think the least they could do is post an official kickstarter update (or facebook post) before sending out a press release to all the news outlets (assuming the game is actualled delayed). I don't mind them delaying the game, but letting their backers know first would be the polite thing to do. I hope we get an official update soon to dispel any confusion.

Not having the tshirts and dogtags to sport this Summer and at Gencon, while the game is still "a thing" is what disappoints me most for the moment. Seconded by not hearing about it first as a Kickstarter backer. ...physical rewards being shipped 3 weeks after July 25th means every event I wanted to sport them at when the weather is warm enough to do so will be over.

Note to any Kickstarter who has not received an email from us with their login and password for their account.
You need to use the login and password that we set up and sent you in order to access your HBS Account on the HBS Account Website (which is different from harebrained-schemes.com. Yes, it's a little confusing.) This account is where you'll access your Steam key and any downloadable extra rewards you pledged for. They will appear when the game is released.
As a Kickstarter, you should have received an email from us with the link to the HBS Account Website along with your official log in and password.
A lot of people have found their mail in their spam folder but, if you can't find it there, please go to this link https://account.harebrained-schemes.com/ and use the "forgotten password" feature. As long as the email address you enter is in the system, it will send a new password. When that doesn’t work, we’ve found the reason most people haven’t received their email yet is because we have an old email address for you.
If that's the case, please email Brian at brian@hbs-studios.com with the name and email you used to sign up for the Kickstarter and the amount you backed at. With that information, he'll be able to look you up and send out your log in information.
