Muralist Joel Bergner partners with the organization DASH and survivors of domestic violence, who will tell their stories through this important new mural in Washington DC. Help raise money for supplies and mural production (paint, brushes, scaffolding, etc.) and win great rewards, and the satisfaction of knowing you helped this important mural be created!!! It will last 15- 20 years and will be seen by thousands of people! When the mural is complete, a large public event will be held to inaugurate the mural, and some of the survivors will tell their inspiring stories to the public. Joel Bergner is an award-winning mural artist and teacher whose work, focusing on issues of culture, diversity and history, explores a variety of local and international social issues. His murals are brightly- colored, intense and detailed, and are currently on display in many cities such as San Francisco, Washington DC, Baltimore, Chicago, and abroad in Brazil, Cuba, and Peru. Joel has also led youth mural projects and collaborated with artists and organizations. In January of 2010, Joel participated in the international mural festival Inter-Nos in Santiago, Cuba, where he collaborated with artists from 9 countries to create a series of large public murals around the city. He is also a member of the Inter-Nos International Mural Arts Council, which promotes mural festivals around the world.
