This collection of songs has been incubating for over five years and is screaming to be released into the universe!
I'm in the middle of recording my 4.5th record "Apple in the Ocean." These songs have spent many years incubating as my last album "Boat With No Oars" was released in 2007. I've returned for the third time to Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth, Minnesota. Sacred Heart is a stunning place to record: a cathedral with natural reverb and a beautiful Baldwin grand piano. I love it there!
These are pop songs about mummies found spooning together, hearts wrapped up in beewax, maps & calendars, heat rising up from radiators, little birds singing down the hall & sweet little clams. I have invited some very talented musicians to work on this record with me and my recording engineer is ever so patient and wonderful. There is a small crew of super special behind the scenes people who are helping me with web stuff, graphic design, this here kickstarter video and more. You can also be a part of bringing this project to life!
Here you can pre-order my new album as well as my older releases. The Rough Budget (what my $3300 goes towards):
$2000 (recording) + $1500 (CD duplication) + $300 (video making/editing) + $500 (paying musicians) + $150 (graphic design) + $100 (posters/promo) = $4500 - $900 (Duluth Homegrown Incubation Grant I was awarded in late 2011) = $3600. I'll eat the remaining $300.
