WHAT IS RINGTAIL CAFE?

Ringtail Cafe is the brainchild of two friends who got together one day and decided to produce a comic.  Through all the trials and tribulations, they forged on and created Ringtail Cafe Productions, an independent small press publishing company that specialises in comics and magazines.

The comic itself has a mix of action, drama and comedy.  The book follows the exploits of various members of a secret organization that operates out of a coffee shop.  They attempt to foil the League of Villainous Evil - a collection of largely minor villains held together by a steady declining dental plan.  Things have started to change though and there's various new players coming into this secret power struggle.

A big part of the Ringtail Cafe comic comes from the characters and their personal viewpoints and adventures, from the former catburgler turned leader to the put-upon music student stuck running the storefront, everyone has a distinct personality.  We love the whole ensemble cast, but like many folks, we all have our personal favourites and we hope you will too.

In issue six: When Adam and Jaime (who invites himself along) take the rescued orphans on an outing to a baseball game, they run afoul of some NEXT Goons.  This issue marks the first appearance of Candystripe and the HERO Taskforce.

This issue features art by Cindy Ramey (Starfire Agency, Nightshift) and writing by Darren Mueller (The Confectionaries) and Elizabeth Stein.  As of right now, we have the overall story written and are ready to begin work on the actual pages.

WHY KICKSTARTER?

Ringtail Cafe #6 is the first new issue of the book to be produced in two years.  As the studio grows, the focus is ever more on mainstream comics and distribution. A fully anthropomorphic book such as Ringtail Cafe has always been an uphill battle to justify the time, effort and expense of printing in large quantities for widespread distribution. This Kickstarter is not just about making an issue happen, it is about helping anthropomorphic comics become more mainstream staples in comic shops and book stores.  

We've chosen Kickstarter for funding because it's very safe and accessible for everyone, making is possible for a variety of people to contribute.  It's very secure because if the project doesn't meet its goal, no money changes hands.  

By donating, you're not only contributing to the creation of a new issue of Ringtail Cafe, you're also supporting the production of anthropomorphic comics in general.  We'd love to spend even more time on the strange exploits of these fun and furry characters and we can... with your help.

REWARDS

We really loved getting to work with the baseball theme in this issue, so when we went to do the rewards, we really wanted to bring along some of that fun to you folks.  To that end we have a lot of unique baseball themed rewards, including custom baseball cards, personalized RTC baseball jerseys and even appearances in the upcoming issue of the comic.  In addition to the things we've listed, if we pass the $2,500 mark, we’ll be throwing in some additional items we wanted to include but couldn't justify at $2000.   Be sure to keep an eye on our updates and we’ll keep everyone informed of how things are going.

Here's a list of the different rewards we're offering:

• A Digital Copy of Issue 6 – This is a pdf (or other format digital comic book) that will be released early exclusively for project backers.  This is your chance to read the book before it's available to the rest of the world.
• Set of RTC Buttons – 4 limited edition baseball themed buttons made just for the release of this book (Jaime, Adam, Candystripe and Ian).  We don't do official RTC buttons very often and this marks the first time Candystripe and Ian have been available.
• Limited Edition Print – This is a pin-up picture of Jaime Grey from Ringtail Cafe posing... well... like Jaime.  This print is signed and numbered and will only be available in extremely limited quantities after this Kickstarter event.
• Large Baseball Team Print – You'll get an 11×17 print of the entire Ringtail Cafe crew in their baseball uniforms.  This is an homage to the usual pictures you'll see of sports teams and it's the only time we're featuring all of the main RTC cast in uniform like this.
• Custom RTC Print – Have a favourite baseball team?  This customized print of an RTC member is coloured with their uniform coloured in the team colours and pattern of your choice.  Show your support for your team by getting a print in their colours.
• Custom Baseball Button – Everyone loves buttons.  Here's a chance to get yourself  or a character of your choice drawn in the baseball theme on a 2 1/4 inch button.
• Digitally Coloured Pin-up – A commission of an RTC character of your choice on a piece of 11×17 art in Full colour.  You'll receive both a physical 11×17 print and a 300dpi digital version of the picture.
• Custom Baseball Card – Want something you can't get anywhere else?  How about yourself on an official Ringtail Cafe Baseball card?  Your card will be included in our RTC League All-Star Card series.  Donators will get 50 copies of their card to keep or give out to friends.
• Life-sized Pin-Up – A 2×6 foot vinyl banner of your character or a character of your choice (no copyrighted characters please, unless they are property of RTC Productions).  This is a heavy duty print in full colour.  It also comes with the original pencil design sketch.
• RTC Baseball Jersey – You'll get the official Ringtail Cafe Baseball Jersey in your size.  These are from a sports supplier that provides sportswear and equipment to teams across the country.  The Jersey has our RTC Baseball Logo across the front and your name and a number of your choice on the back.  Numbers are on a first come-first serve basis, so supplies of this item are limited.
• RTC Baseball Cap – The official Ringtail Cafe Baseball Cap.  It sports the RTC Baseball Logo across the front.
• Signed Baseball – You get a baseball signed by the cast of Ringtail Cafe and mounted in a clear case, a unique collectible!
• Appearance in Ringtail Cafe #6 – You'll be able to send us a picture and you or your personal character will show up in a scene in Issue 6.  Your character will show up clearly in one of the baseball stadium scenes.  In addition, you will receive a framed full sized (11×17) print of the page you appear on and a shout out in the book credits.
• Model Sheet - The character design used as a reference for your appearance in the book, drawn by the original artist of Ringtail Cafe.  It includes three angles (front, back, profile) and two close-up shots.  Donators will receive a physical copy printed at 11×17 size and a 300dpi digital version.
• Issue 6 Bible -  A hardbound book that includes the issue six script, production art, character bios and lots of other Ringtail Cafe material.
