The aim of this project is to create a piece of public art that doubles as a multi-use stage space at the Many Hands Farm Corp.
THE PROJECT
The ultimate aim of this project is to create an aesthetically pleasing piece of public art that doubles as multifunctional stage space at the Many Hands Farm Corps (MHFC) in Amherst, MA. The three-tiered stage will measure approximately twenty-five feet in diameter. The back wall of this stage-the artistic component of the installation-will be composed of a variety of old windows, doors and shutters.
Through the construction of this project, we hope to create community togetherness. To continue this camaraderie, this space will be used as a social gathering place and as an area to promote performances, lectures, and concerts. With this stage, the MHFC will no longer have to hold their visiting college class lectures, impromptu performances, and concerts on wet ground or in a half-built chicken coup!

THE FARM
MHFC is Community Supported Agriculture farm that holds aspirations of becoming a social epicenter that fosters, as well as celebrates community events, programming, and growth.
Essentially, MHFC's mission is to present farming as a noble pursuit; improving it with a multidisciplinary approach through creativity, intentional community and exploring the relationship among agriculture, society and nature. Furthermore, through educational instruction, MHFC aims to help develop ethical leadership and a competent labor force that will enable these values to proliferate throughout the greater community. You can read more about the Farm here.
THANK YOU
Our project has been lucky enough to receive partial funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, but unfortunately, these funds are not enough to keep our project alive. Any amount that you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
