Photo-main

A feature-length film about how much a modern twentysomething would sacrifice for fame, and why the sacrifice seems necessary.

THE FILM

15 Minutes of Faye is a feature-length film which questions Western culture’s idolization of fame, and comments on the emotional sources of our sense of entitlement.

The movie is about Mycah, a loser who wants to be famous so badly he would sell his soul.

Problem is, he works as a waiter in a small town, isn’t particularly good at anything, and just conceived a child with his girlfriend. Mycah’s future seems set, until Faye, a past fling, returns to their hometown for the holidays. In the years since their breakup, Faye has become the lead singer of an internationally-renowned rock band.

Despite their volatile romantic history (and despite objection from Mycah’s diplomatic roommate Hansford), Mycah devises a plan to charm Faye into liking him again, in hopes of somehow leeching off of her celebrity status, and becoming famous himself. When approached, Faye puts on a good face, and seems to enjoy Mycah’s company as the two spend an evening together. But she hides her true motivation: revenge.

As the night wears on, Hansford tries to stop his friend from stumbling through Faye’s darkly comedic game, and Mycah will have to choose whether to sacrifice his job, his friendships, and his sanity for a waning shot at fame.

While the film deals with some extremely selfish characters, it seeks to portray their humanity, and suggests their potential to change. THE PLAN

If we meet our fundraising goal, a crew of fifteen filmmakers will shoot 15 Minutes of Faye from July 3rd-31st, 2011, in Bradenton, Florida, and Sarasota, Florida. Most of our locations have already been locked, and we’re in the process of casting. A director’s assembly cut of the film will be completed in Fall 2011, and post production will be completed in summer 2012, at which time 15 Minutes of Faye will be entered into film festivals nationwide. The ultimate financial goal of Faye Film LLC is to secure a small-scale distribution deal with a reputable film distribution company. Having been in development for over two years, 15 Minutes of Faye is a passion project about which its creative team is extremely excited. It will be the second feature film we’ve created.

THE MONEY

Most of the film’s financing is being put up by … well, the guy who’s making it! Josh Ingle believes so strongly in this movie, he’s been saving up for years in order to create it. This $3,000 from Kickstarter is a vital part of our fundraising campaign.

Money from the film’s budget will be spent on production design, props, camera and lighting expendables, wardrobe and makeup, equipment truck rental (and its gas), insurance and legal fees, food and lodging, fees requested by location owners for permission to film at their locations, and paying the cast and crew (many of whom have agreed to work for far less than standard professional pay). The director, producer, and cinematographer are all working on this film free of charge.

Thank you very much for your support! We’re looking forward to showing you our film!
