Update #3: One Week Left & A New Video
Only a week left to go! The drive ends on May 31st at midnight, so if you haven't made a pledge to help fund Cartoon College now is the time....
Just for fun we've posted this assembly of footage shot in April at MoCCA Fest 2010, a super cool comics convention in New York attended by many of the cartoonists we're following in the film. Please pass it along to anyone who might be interested, and thank you for supporting the project!

Just a quick note to let you know for pledges of $225 we're now offering signed copies of James Sturm's newest graphic novel Market Day, which is getting terrific reviews.
Also we were very excited to see that German cartoonist/poet Markus Freise wrote a long blog post about Cartoon College.

Update #1: Thank You! / A New Goal
We want to thank everyone who helped get the Cartoon College Kickstarter drive off to such a successful start! To those who donated, to those who posted links on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Flickr, who forwarded our email or told someone about the project, to blogs like The Beat, Mermaid Hostel, Top Shelf, and especially the students and faculty of CCS who helped spread the word, thank you.
After one week we've achieved 93% of our minimum goal. That's fantastic, and better than we expected. But we still need your support! The drive has 56 days left and we want to make the most of that time, so we've set a new goal for ourselves: $15,000!
Even if you've already made a pledge you can do us a huge favor by continuing to tell people about the project and emailing/posting links to our Kickstarter page. And if you haven't made a pledge, please do!

Tara Wray (Director, Producer, Camera): Tara’s first film, an autobiographical documentary titled Manhattan, Kansas, premiered at the 2006 SXSW Film Festival where it received an audience award. It went on to screen at New York’s Lincoln Center, and festivals worldwide, earning several top prizes including Best Film at the Brooklyn Arts Council's 41st International Film & Video Festival. Manhattan, Kansas has since gone on to air on PBS, Channel Oktoskop in Austria, and can currently be seen on the Documentary Channel. Her original comics have been published in the literary journal 3rd Bed.
Josh Melrod (Director, Producer, Camera): Josh attended the MFA program for creative writing at Washington University in St. Louis. He was a founding editor of the Land-Grant College Review, the award-winning literary journal, and is an accomplished fiction writer. As a printmaker and visual artist his works are included in numerous public and private collections including the Boston Public Library and the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth University. Recently he’s produced and edited video for Mapendo International, an organization dedicated to protecting African refugees, and the Vermont Cheese Council. He was associate producer of Manhattan, Kansas.
In January Tara and Josh were selected as one (duo) of “10 Filmmakers To Watch in 2010” by The Independent.
