Comic archive files (CBZ, CBR) are the standard format for storing comic books and there are a vast number of readers for just about every platform (Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS, etc). The issue is that the vast majority of people who read their comics in this format also produce their own comics in this format. You may build comics from scanning, ripping, searching, or drawing your own, but there is no application that provides the tools to not only build the comic archive, but attach meta-data as well (name, description, series, issue, etc).

Comic Seer is currently the fastest, most efficient, and quickly be coming one of the most popular desktop readers for Windows & Linux. It is available for free to download.

Comic Seer is to be expanded significantly to include designing, building, and detailing your comic archive files. The details are outlined in the following designs:

All of these changes will allow the user to support end-to-end management of comic archive files with Comixology integration to automatically read the details of your comic files.

The work will be completed in 2 phases. At the end of each phase, a full version will be released for you to use. The first phase will be to develop the comic archive file builder and allow you to build your own comic archives. The second phase is support the viewing and editing of the comic meta-data (name, description, series, issue, etc). I expect each phase to take approximately one month of development. The progress will be updated frequently via kickstarter.
