Wonder: (noun)...a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful...(verb)...to be curious to know something, desire

After the positive response to my first album, Life Is Sweet, I thought a lot about how I had reached that point.  I had been in a place where I could only dream of making an album, at home with my two beautiful young children, too busy to think of much else.  But then I began to wonder and I started to imagine what it could be.  My curiosity took hold, questions pouring out of me to everyone I met a long the way...and eventually it happened.   It was the dreaming and the wondering that had led me there.

Most songs are about love: being in it, losing it, wondering about it.  After Life Is Sweet, I found myself inexplicably drawn to songs that lived in that place of wonder, curiosity, and dreaming.  Songs like Loverman and Dream A Little Dream Of Me. It was as if you could ask these deep questions in your song, and somehow find an answer.

The music I make has a little bit of everything that I listen to and love in it. It's eclectic in the choice of material and in the way I interpret the songs emotionally.  It's eclectic, too, in that I arrange my material using elements of jazz, folk, country, and pop, with my voice lending itself to that combination.

On my next album, Wonderland, I plan to take this approach even further.  The record will have many of the same musicians who were on my first...but this time we will have more strings: everything from violin to mandolin, and of course, my favorite instrument, cello.

Why $14,600?  Independently produced CD's are usually made with a much higher budget, often in the $20K plus range.  I can do it for $14,600!  All of your contributions will go toward funding the musicians, studio time, engineering, mastering, and manufacturing of this CD.  

My favorite thing about making music is collaborating with other people: the musicians, primarily, but also the photographers, engineers, and graphic designers I work with.  All of these people bring so much to the table and inspire me. This is a group effort. And now you can be a part of this next collaboration, too!
