What Is Riddikulus! 2012?

Riddikulus! 2012 is a six-band, two-week long rolling wizard rock festival running from Friday June 8 to Thursday June 21, and featuring The Whomping Willows, Lauren Fairweather, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Tonks and the Aurors, Snidget, and I Speak Tree! Our goal is to buck the tradition of expensive summer tours, wizard rock festivals and fan conventions, and offer a first-class music lineup for FREE or VERY CHEAP at each show we play. MOST of our shows will be free; the few admission shows we have will be capped at $10 admission.

Why We're Fundraising

Sadly, public libraries have been hit very hard by the recession, and very few libraries have a budget for programming like ours. Although we will receive performance fees from one or two libraries on this tour, the amount of money we'll receive will only cover a fraction of our considerable travel expenses. Our minimum goal with this Kickstarter campaign is to cover our gas cost, which is approximately $1,000. If we're able to raise additional funds beyond that initial $1,000, it will go toward the rental of our tour van, hotel rooms, tour merchandise, and other expenses. 

UPDATE: We hit our initial fundraising goal in just FIVE HOURS. Wow. You folks are completely amazing! Our next goal is to cover our tour van rental. In order to do that, we have to hit $3,000! 

UPDATE #2: Holy crapola! We hit $3,000 and we're well on our way to $4,000! Every dime we receive will be invested into our tour, whether it's for practical things like gas and hotels or fanciful things like stage decor. Please know that your donation will help us make this tour exceptional, and we really appreciate your support!

All six bands on this tour have dedicated countless hours to the fostering and development of the wizard rock community over the past few years, and we would love to keep touring and spreading the message of love and literacy year-round. What We're Offering To Donors
