A HUGE Leap Forward!
At the beginning of this week, we set out with the goal of reaching $2,500 by Friday. We’ve had a lot of help in spreading the word about our work and our campaign, and while the campaign has been slow to gain steam, we felt confident that we could reach that mile-marker and stay on track for our ultimate goal.
But today we took a huge leap forward—$6,200 in just two hours, to be exact.
Two incredible women—both activists in support of other women—are behind that number: Martha Richards, founder and Executive Director of WomenArts, and the one and only Eve Ensler.
We are overwhelmed by the support and solidarity of these leaders, and are more confident than ever that we can reach our goal of $10,000 by December 30.
We felt it fitting to express our gratitude with the beautiful message shared by WCS artist Leila Buck, whose play In The Crossing was one of our featured productions in our 2011 Festival:
