Thank you all for your generous support!  This project is now extremely close to being on its way to the Playa.  It would not be possible without everyone who has successfully backed us.  

We will be hosting a fundraising event in San Francisco on Thursday August 16th.  If you are in the city, come by to enjoy some awesome music and socialize with some of the Cosmic Carousel crew as we prepare to head into the dessert!

We are approaching the end of our kickstarter campaign for The Cosmic Carousel. As this is being written we are $200 short of our $7500 goal. We are almost there. Your generosity and confidence have taken us this far, almost to a successful end. We are so grateful and excited to have you as a part of this project. In these final hours we are asking for just a little more help, to pass our project goal on to others you feel might be interested in getting us across the finish line. 

We will be continually updating you with our progress until it has reached completion and beyond. It is important to us that you remain apart of this experience. You are now, someone whom has contributed, someone who has made this possible.

Until the future

The Cosmic Crew 

The Cosmic Carousel has been an amazing ride so far. Long hours and hard work, yet, everyone in the crew would admit to you: "It has been tough, but I wouldn't have it any other way".  

Jumping back and forth between hard edges and smooth curves, we are still working on the "under skirt"....the frame which will cradle The Cosmic Carousels' shape. We have attached some photos of our current progress. 

We will continue to post updates after our kickstarter campaign reaches the end of its line on August 3, 2012 at 8 p.m. 

We are currently designing some costume apparel to accompany our theatrics and have attached a little video of our progress. The jacket is made out of 100% organic cotton muslin, waxed with local bees wax. This is a prototype of the feminine version. The final pieces will undergo a 3 step dying and waxing process creating deep shades of color and texture. The masculine version is featured as a sketch at the end of the video.

We are STILL raising money, so if you can pass on our project to those you feel would be inspired, it would be a great help to us.

The Comic Crew

We would like to welcome Josh Knoblick to our Cosmic Crew. Coming straight from working on a project in Shanghai, China he is joining us for our late night welding extravaganzas! And he loves it! A couple days in and he is already a strong link in our chain. 

Our last update concluded the purchase of aircraft grade mirror polished aluminum; the skin of The Cosmic Carousel. Since then we have completed cutting our spacey shapes with a water-jet CNC machine courtesy of the Techshop in San Jose, CA. We are at this very moment installing pieces of an aluminum frame to the already constructed steel frame and will be in the coming days molding the smooth shapes of our shiny craft into its innovative sleek design, the likes of which has never before seen within this atmosphere.

We are excited everyday to get the opportunity to build this phenomenal, edgy, aesthetically divine.......toy. It has been hard work, with long hours and steep risks, but everyone in our crew agrees and feels; this needs to happen, this has to happen and this WILL happen. We are obsessed and attached and 100% in over our heads. What does love have to do with it? Everything.

We are on the last leg of our fundraising tour. We will need help in order to make it to the finish line. To those whom have already contributed, thank-you thank-you so much! Your support and monetary confidence in The Cosmic Carousel is helping us take an idea that seemed 'out of this world' and make it come to life, to live in this world.
