Update #20: Urban Honey CSA

Reserve Urban Honey today. Sign up for a Mad Urban Honey CSA. Either twelve 10oz jars or six 5oz jars of Urban Honey will be available for you to pick up at three locations in Madison, WI: Bloom Bake Shop, Just Coffee, and House of Brews.
Honey changes with the year as different flowers and plant bloom and grow. The various nectars and pollen the bees feed on will give urban honey a unique flavor. By supporting Mad Urban Bees LLC with a CSA membership, you will be supporting Mad Urban Bees throughout the year, and you will also have the freshest, most local honey available.
Urban Honey will be extracted throughout the year and be available for pickup no less than 3 times per season. You will receive honey from the most recent honey extractions, giving you a chance to taste the honey of what is blooming now.
Update #19: The Madison Bee Ordinance has passed!
The city even passed it with an amendment allowing residential properties in commercial areas to keep bees. This means Madison has a really good law that other cities and towns can emulate. This means that you can keep bees in Madison and have the city on your side. This means I am open for business!
Update #18: February Upadate #1
Hello Folks,
I know it's been a bit since I last wrote, so here is quick list of what I've been up to.
- I have spots for all of my bees this spring with a waiting list that will allow me to go from 50 to 100 hives when I'm ready.
- The bees are ordered, and I have started assembling the hives and restoring some old equipment. Everything should look great when the bees arrive in late April!
- Madison should have it's bee ordinance passed by the end of March this year.
- I ordered 30 chicken waterers. That's right, chicken waterers. Under the new ordinance the bees need to have a water source next to the hive.
- I am working on a honey CSA. There will be a local, pick-up version and a domestically shipped version. More to follow.
Well that's all for now.
Nathan

I will keep posting updates here on Kickstarter, so keep in touch. I could not do without you.
Have a great 2012!
