The Absent Fitting is a short film surrounding a simple moment when two lives cross.
A young man, visiting from the city, walks into a small town shoe store. Looking up from her magazine, the middle-aged saleswoman greets him with a smile. She gently brushes the few gray streaks of hair behind her ear and advances toward the man.
“I'm looking for a new pair of dress shoes.”
The Absent Fitting is a short film surrounding a simple moment when two lives cross. Through polite conversation and coquettish movements, they open a subtle dialogue on the ideas of what it means to be alone, youth and the search of fulfillment in life.
With production taking place in Summer of 2011, the The Absent Fitting is to be shot in a unique way. Taking on a more personal view, the film will be shot only from the perspectives of the two characters. We will witness their interactions through their eyes. The result will be a more personal and intimate encounter between the characters and audience.
