We're over $7,000!!!! We did it!!! THANK YOU!!!
And we're gonna keep raising money for 10 more days til the Sept. 15th deadline, if you please! The more that's raised = the better the CD!!!
I will be honest and 'fess up that I underestimated some expenses -- and some other surprise expenses have popped up.
Also, depending on the final amount raised, maybe we can even add to the CD songlist!!

I'M MAKING A CD! Me singing songs I love, made famous by women I grew up wanting to be -- Julie Andrews, Shirley Jones, and Barbara Cook.

I’m at a point in my life where I want to be heard. To raise my voice. Make noise -- beautiful noise! And I want you, the friends and folks who have been significant and instrumental in my life, to share in this exciting endeavor.

This CD and the solo concert it represents – are my way of giving thanks to three female artists who used their extraordinary gifts to make a difference.

They inspired me as a young girl to want to do musical theatre, to sing these songs, and to breathe life and give my voice to these characters. They showed me what a woman could be – independent, feisty, beautiful, gentle, wise, temperamental, shrewd, picky, opinionated, smart, confident. Capable and strong.

They weren’t and aren’t afraid of redefining themselves. And this is a little scary to say, but...

I'M READY TO JOIN THEM IN THAT JOURNEY – to sing their songs and represent these women and their characters that helped shape me. To thank them for taking us Beyond the Ingénue (that’s the name of the concert and the CD).

This is a time of new beginning for me. A redefining!

FROM THIS CD, I AM CREATING A PLATFORM TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. To help, to guide, to coach. Using my voice to help others find and use their voices – by teaching performance technique, song interpretation and coaching through an Online Institute. (I can't wait to share all of my ideas and plans with you--but that's a conversation for another time.)

I would greatly appreciate anything you can do to help me make this happen. I need to raise $7,000.00 for studio time, musicians, mixing/mastering, rights, distribution, etc. – I’M HEADING INTO THE RECORDING STUDIO IN SEPTEMBER AND HAVE MY FIRST CONCERT LATER THAT MONTH.

$150 and up – add to all the above a photo of none other than Barbara Cook – signed to YOU in thanks!! That’s right, BARBARA COOK!!!!!!
$200 and up – add: GET THIS! You will not only get an autographed picture of SHIRLEY JONES – signed to you in thanks -- she’s throwing in her CD and one of her films!!! For reals! SHIRLEY PARTRIDGE JONES!
