Law Dogs, a feature length documentary that explores the relationship of police K9 handlers and their patrol dogs.
For the past 3 and 1/2 years we have been documenting the fascinating world of police K9 handlers and the special relationship they have with their dogs. We've been granted exceptional access to several law enforcement agencies, K9 trainers and breeders. The story of these dogs is amazing and we want to show how these working dogs interact with their handlers...in all aspects such as homelife where they are really more like pets.
We need support to complete the re-enactments, archival clips and post production costs. We have attended 3 K9 association seminars that have produced some really exciting footage and interviews. We have filmed hours of ride-alongs with K9 teams. We have gotten to know many K9 officers at different stages of their careers, they have given us insight into their lives with these dogs who are truly their partners on and off the job. Some of the stories we will tell include the heartbreaking stories of dogs killed in the line of duty. The grueling process of turning puppies into dedicated patrol dogs. And the courageous service the dogs give to our communities.

Our target is to submit to distributors and festivals for 2012 with production being completed in late 2011.
