Slant of Light Theater Company is embarking on it's second "Rail Against the Headlines" Production Season and we need your help!

Slant of Light Theater Company

is an up and coming non-profit production, education and presentation company in Fairfield County, CT. We emphasize social equality and the importance of communication and awareness. We produce artistic work that inspires dialogue in a safe atmosphere. Our production season is titled "Rail Against the Headlines" (RATH) because we are devoted to bringing contemporary issues to the forefront to be discussed.

We need YOUR help to CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION into our second production season...

2011 - 2012 "Rail Against the Headlines" (RATH)

Production Season includes the following:

NOVEMBER 2011: Interview Based Theatre Project

Bringing a new style of contemporary theatre to Fairfield County, this production will feature 4-5 actors who have conducted interviews with local community members who have been recently unemployed. Through the words of these individuals Slant of Light hopes to promote communication... and then action as we explore the innate optimism that lies within the American individual. All interviews will be spoken verbatim and placed in the structure of an engaging theatrical experience incorporating music and movement. This is a true theatrical community engagement.

FEBRUARY 2012: HEARTBREAKER by Michael R. McGuire

Pam, a struggling single mother and exotic dancer, is the most important witness to the alleged rape of her fellow dancers at the hands of a group of privileged college athletes. Why doesn't investigator Maxwell Freeman want to hear what she has to say? HEARTBREAKER was a National Playwrights Conference 2008 Semi-Finalist and was produced by Hygienic Theatrewerks in 2010 (Dir. Sarah Coleman)

MAY 2012: Stop Kiss by Diana Son

A poignant and funny play about the ways, both sudden and slow, that lives can change irrevocably. After Callie meets Sara, the two unexpectedly fall in love, their first kiss provokes a violent attack that transforms their lives in a way they could never anticipate. Stop Kiss has been produced by The Public Theatre in New York and was on the Top 10 Plays list of the New York Times.

AUGUST 2012: All Me, All the Time by Susan Cinoman

In a play that shifts from suburban kitchens in Connecticut to sleazy hotel rooms in New Jersey, two attractive couples confront the end of their marriages while their daughters party wildly on the night of high school graduation. The narcissism of each character is examined with crushing comic detail in this fast-paced exploration of love, commitment and the empty nest on the edge.

What do you think of our production season? Which shows are you most excited about? If you're interested in getting involved, of course let us know!

HOW YOU CAN HELP

We need YOUR support to help fund these important and theatrical pieces for this community! We offer a type of theatre that is rarely seen around Fairfield County. We do off beat, new and exciting work that fosters creative and thought-provoking discussion. YOUR donation will help support this idea. It will also help with all production expenses including the following: set construction, costumes, lighting equipment, actor/designer stipends, playbills, marketing, educational workshops around the show and more.

Our expenses greatly exceed the mere $1,000 we need you to help us raise, but this contribution will GREATLY help us. Your assistance will allow our staff and artists to focus ON the conversation... rather than on GETTING to it.
