REAL DANCE PRODUCTIONS is a production company founded by longtime dancers and friends Benjamin Allen and Caroline Magbojos. Our mission is to enrich people's lives and unite communities through dance. Since 2010, we have been producing the Gym Crew Challenge, a dance competition for nonprofessionals who love to dance. Including the performers, this one night affair brings together anywhere from 400-600 people to celebrate dance. Because of the generosity and support of the community, we were able to take our event to NYC in October 2011 and sell out the Ailey Ciitgroup Theater. The competition is back in LA on April 22nd, and we are excited to be stepping it up at a bigger venue, the Avalon Hollywood. We are raising money to help with the production costs, and your donation will make a big difference.

WHAT IS GYM CREW CHALLENGE?

The very first Gym Crew Challenge was held in April of 2010. We invite instructors from gyms all over the city to put crews of their students together and battle it out against each other. Only one of them will take home the title of LA's Best Gym Crew. The competition provides a unique opportunity for individuals to perform on a big stage in front of their family, friends and peers. Being dancers ourselves, we know all the amazing benefits of dance for the performers AND spectators. We envision taking this competition nationwide and giving all the housewives, CEOs and dance lovers the chance to do something they wouldn't normally have the chance to do.

WHAT WILL BE AT THE EVENT?

We will have anywhere from 10-12 crews fighting for the title in front of celebrity judges. Past judges include Tabitha and Napoleon and Mandy Moore from So You Think You Can Dance, Joe Zee, Creative Director for ELLE Magazine, and Layla Kayleigh, Co-Host of America's Best Dance Crew. To make the show even more exciting, we feature special guest acts with diverse styles, such as the Lady Boys of Sweaty Sundays choreographed by Ryan Heffington, Billy Bell's Lunge Dance Collective, and an all-male Bollywood crew Wanted Ashiqz. We also bring in a Drag Queen Host to keep things fun and interesting. 

WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE?

We need your help raising money to help pay for this amazing venue. Your donation will support the arts and open the door for more of these community building events in other cities. You will also be giving the crews an opportunity of a lifetime and an unbelievable night of entertainment to all the participants and spectators.

$2,000 Production (1 Lighting Designer, 1 Audio Tech, Use of In-House Lighting and Sound equipment and use of the in-house stage)
