The Pedestrians: a Collective in Motion is a theater community founded in 2011 by Helyn Rain Messenger and Kate Eminger, both native Texans who met in Austin and moved to New York City.

Their first production, This Property is Condemned: Three Short Plays by Tennessee Williams, took place in June of 2012.

about the Fall Harvest!

The Pedestrians: a Collective in Motion are in the midst of our Fall Harvest production, taking place on October 26-28.  We will be performing on an outdoor stage in Greenpoint, Brooklyn at Domestic-Construction's garden space, design.plot.  Go have a long look at their website www.domestic-construction.com.

We will be incorporating the act of harvesting into a celebration of theater, music, art, Fall and friends.  

about the plays!

The plays we have chosen for this festive occasion are: Edward Albee's Counting the Ways and Arthur Miller's Elegy for a Lady.

Both of these short American one-act plays explore the process of love in very different relationships: a Man and the Proprietress of a boutique discuss the inevitability of loss when loving; He and She, happily married, struggle through their inability to communicate with each other resulting in the biggest changes they've ever had to contemplate. 

Love has a process just like anything else.  It begins by existing, it grows, it changes, it develops and eventually it produces something by which it can be remembered.  This is similar to the process of plants: sprouting, growing, producing.  The Harvest is a time of celebration and finality.  The fruit of the labor and the end of the process.

In addition to a weekend of outdoor theater, we will have live music sprinkled throughout each evening.  We will have tap dancing, accordions, harmonies, rock n' roll, folk music and MORE!  

A variety of artists who wish to share with you. 

We will also have pumpkin carving and face painting!

All drinks will be served in reusable glasses or recyclable bottles.  

We will be composting and recycling throughout the weekend, promoting sustainability for our Pedestrian Parties.
