Update #7: Crunch time!

Posted on November 10, 2009

Well, as graduate students, we are also involved in the many performances that take place within the Department of Dance (www.twu.edu/dance/concerts.asp) This week kicks off our concert series, and both Bethany and I, along with several of our cast members, are in the theater every night rehearsing for this weekend's show. To say the least, we're pooped! But, that doesn't stop Complex Environments! We all woke up bright and early this past Sunday for a fun 8:30 a.m. rehearsal at Banter with our musician, John. Tomorrow morning, we shall do it again!

The postcards will be sent to print today- with a brand new design. Thanks for all the feedback on the previous design; your comments were noted.

A question for you: What slow song do you most remember from awkward school dances?

Thanks again for all your support!

I think it was "Almost Paradise" for prom one year. I really don't like it anymore. So cheesy!!!

Red Light Special by TLC. When I finally got up the nerve to ask my crush of a gillion years to dance that was the song that was playing. I was so nervous all I could talk about was how my dog just had nine puppies. Needless to say, the romance never blossomed!

Connected as Lily Sloan (765 friends)

The idea behind Big Rig Dance Collective sprung up while we were road trippin' from Denton to a performance in Austin, TX. Like highways connect cities, we aim to connect diverse communities through accessible performances, community classes, and collaborative events. BRDC is directed by Whitney Boomer, Crysta Caulkins-Clouse, Amanda Jackson, and Lily Sloan and creatively developed with many DFW area dance artists. We have recently completed guest artist residencies at Tarrant County Community College, North Central Texas College, Richland College, Green Space Arts Collective, and Ryan High School. We have collaborated with artists such as Sarah Gamblin (Dance), John Osburn (Music), Impulse (Music), and Hentai Performing Orchestra (Music), and performed in concerts and festivals such as Big Range Dance Festival (Houston and Austin), Dance and the Child International, and DFW Arts Goggle.
