Update #2: WE MADE IT TO THE END -- THANK YOU!
We have reached the end of this Kickstarter campaign and sadly we didn't reach our goal of $10,000.00. Proudly, I had 48 backers willing to donate their hard earned money to help fund my dream. We raised $3,347.00--I think that is pretty AMAZING! Thank you for believing in my vision!
For those that backed the project, I want to let you know that I am going to continue forward with Firefighter Dan. Unfortunately because we didn't get the funding, I won't be releasing Safety Tips for Fire Prevention Week this year. I do have a great news about how and where I will be releasing the Safety Tips in November, BUT I will be revealing that NEWS sometime later this month. My backers will be the first to hear about it.
Because we didn't reach our goal, I will not be receiving any of the funds pledged. It is an 'All or Nothing' deal with Kickstarter. Your credit cards will not be charged. If you would still like to donate to the cause, I have set up a Pay Pal account and a 'Donate' button on the Firefighter Dan website. Your contribution would still be greatly appreciated.
Am I disappointed? Yes. But so many great things have happened as a result of creating this Kickstarter campaign. This door closes, but so many more have opened. Receiving all of the supportive messages and comments from all over the world has been amazing. Thanks to all my brothers and sisters in the fire service for your support. I am even more motivated than ever to create The Firefighter Dan Show!

Update #1: WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A CARTOON CHARACTER?
Would you like to be a cartoon character in Calamity City? Back our Kickstarter and you just might be seen wandering the streets of Calamity City and/or popping up in a Safety Tip!
This Is How It Will Work
We will be randomly selecting 5 of our fabulous backers from RED HAT to BATTALION CHIEF after we get to our goal and when our time is up. Each dollar you pledge gives you a better chance to become a cartoon character. We will put all of our backers names in to a Fire Helmet--if you pledge $5, your name will go in 5 times. If you pledged $250, you name will go in 250 times. IN ADDITION: For every person to that you bring to Kickstarter to back Firefighter Dan's Safety Tips, we will add their number to your number. Once everyones' names are in, we will pull out 5 names. Those five people will become animated members of the Calamity City Community.

Raised in Virginia Beach, VA, Tim Saguinsin spent much of his childhood with a pencil and a paintbrush in hand. He continued on with his artistic endeavors attending the Maryland Institute, College of Art where he received his BFA in General Fine Arts in 1995.
After graduating, Tim traveled overseas to London, England where he transformed his talents of painting and sculpture to animation and graphics creating educational content. While in London, Tim co-founded re-Animate Educational Software producing over thirty awarding winning educational products. Returning to America in 2001, Tim took an Art Director position at k12, Inc. where he continues to educate through graphics and animation.
Tim also does freelance animation and graphics through Ricecooker Studios, LLC . He has done work for Zynga, the Black Eyed Peas, AARP, Redbox and has created content for the Filipino American Community.
Tim is a certified Firefighter and volunteered at Nokesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department in Prince William County Virginia between 2004-2007. Tim is also certified in the state of New Jersey and is looking to get back into volunteering in addition to creating Firefighter Dan.
Hey... you gave it a shot for a worthy cause. Next time, I'm sure you'll reach your goal and make Firefighter Dan a reality... and a champion for children's fire safety.
